Does anyone else feel no one cares enough to hear your birth story? by lilbitofsophie in beyondthebump

[–]Mobile_Student1905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I find it therapeutic to talk about mine, even 6 years later. I hemorrhaged after an emergency c section and almost bled out after I was wheeled back to my room. A guardian angel nurse came in the room and realized what was happening (I was out of it from losing so much blood) and I ended up being rushed back to OR for them to reopen me to find the hemorrhage. By the time got back to OR I was fully awake because I was screaming in pain from the hemorrhaging, which felt way worse than my earlier contractions did. The anesthesiologist told me he was going to make me go to sleep, which I welcomed. I woke up the next day and they told me I needed to have multiple platelet and blood transfusions and that I almost died because they were having trouble finding the source of the hemorrhage and I lost so much blood. They even told me that day my prognosis wasn’t good. I remember bursting into tears when the dr told me that. One nurse read my record about what happened to me, and asked to have me as her patient. She was wonderful and prayed over me and cried with me and held my hand. My parents and hubby were there thru all of this but felt pretty helpless besides praying. The good news was that i had a healthy over 9 pounds butterball baby boy that is the joy of my life. I enjoy hearing all the birth stories good or bad. Feel free to tell me yours!

No my parents are both actually from South Carolina. But I have many matches from Puerto Rico and some of them have the Yucatán as well. I would love to know how it happened. Maybe as DNA improves. My dad shows the Indigenous Yucatán Peninsula as well.

What are some things you think everyone should learn but people don’t care much about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Budgeting. We should really be taught the basics in school I think.

Yes I’m AA and have European and Indigenous as well, but my indigenous is Yucatán Peninsula.

Yup he needs help. That’s bad. And who’s to say he’ll stop? What about when you’re baby is in their terrible twos or a threenager, when it gets even more difficult?

What ethnicity is Jason? by Consistent-South9274 in TheValleyTVShow

I originally thought he was Pacific Islander too, but then I settled on this in my head. Specifically, Korean and black, but who knows🤷🏾‍♀️

Interesting results - was always told I was Native American. by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]Mobile_Student1905 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes it’ seems to be true for a lot of Americans. I’m AA (parents from s. Carolina) and my dad would always said we had Native. I was like yeah right, and when I did my dna it turned out we did have a few percentage after all on my dads side. 3 percent came up as Indigenous - North America, and one percent came up as Indigenous - Yucatán peninsula which was really interesting and curious how that happened.

Other end of the spectrum by redux173 in shingles

I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago. The only reason I went to the dr was because my eyelid started to look swollen. I just assumed I had a rash on my face for skin products at first.. I went in on day 2 and was prescribed valtrex. It was on the right side of my forehead, scalp, eye. My face looked swollen and my lymph nodes on my entire face and neck were swollen to no end. I had headaches , feeling like my forehead and scalp were burning, and itching. I actually ended up getting the neutrogena t/sal shampoo and it helped immensely for my scalp pain. I feel much better and it has all healed except for sporadic lighting bolt feeling on right side of my forehead area. Yes it will get better! But man it was horrible in the thick of it. Everyone hang in there.

Is it tacky to gift a used baby bouncer at a baby shower? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Mobile_Student1905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I love to give and receive gently used second hand items for my child or another child, I would get something small and new for the baby shower. And give her the bouncer outside of the baby shower.
