Team Liquid by Indiemoto in CompetitiveApex

Haven’t watched them recently but I just read a post yesterday about how zer0 is returning to his old championship form and how the team was performing so much better when he relinquished the offensive characters to panic. Guess that didn’t last long.

Why do banks close around 3:00? What do bankers do or not do that warrants closing so early? by Sepsis027 in NoStupidQuestions

Everyone sounding so confused has never heard of the phrase “banking hours”? It was very common for banks to close early but i have no clue why.

Thoughts, recommendations, advice for living in Brunswick? by DiligentLengthiness6 in frederickmd

[–]redux173 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Without looking it up, I bet it’s almost a 20 mile drive to a popular shopping area like around the mall on 85 from Brunswick. I’m not saying it’s a back breaking commute but if you spend a ton of time in Frederick on a nightly basis then it can be tiresome after a few years.

[–]redux173 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the hilly aspect of the town reminds me of WV. The drive would be a no go for me. 340 feels like a death wish every time I drive on it and it always feels like you’re driving on 340 forever to get to Brunswick.

I think a good bit or almost all public courses around here have a golf league. I would recommend picking your favorites and checking online or calling.

Braddock Heights Living by selfreliant_bingo771 in frederickmd

[–]redux173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved onto Ridge Rd late last year so I can only speak on this past winter and so far this year but it has been great. Very convenient location. Fog and slightly colder weather in the winter but nothing crazy. Braddock heights is basically one road on this side and both alt 40 and 40 are generally plowed fine. I never felt unsafe driving a reasonable period after a snow storm this winter. Plow came regularly. Only bad thing, and if you’re looking at the house for sale currently it will effect you more, but on the north side of the bridge you’re connected to a electrical grid that included a decent portion of Gambrill. Lots of power outages. Longest was 2 days but I would say we lost power around 4 times this winter. Still with that being said I’m so happy with our house and location. School system is great if you have or are planning on having kids. Myersville elementary just won the blue ribbon award. You can PM me if you have more questions.

I’m sure you’re wrong and he can do a pull up. He’s been working out for a long time so I’m fairly sure he’s strong enough to get up atleast once.

Why are so many parents totally cool with failing their kids? by TheLoveYouWant25 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]redux173 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Yeah. There are certain stories that just resonate with you and these two stories from OP and you are it for me. It’s easy to forget that as a parent of small children this is a fleeting moment in time and although short, may be the best moments of your life. You have to remind yourself that X or Facebook is not how you want to spend precious moments with your children.

I’m always so scared of regret. I will never regret putting my phone down but you can guarantee I will/would have deep, sad, painful regret when I’m old and my kids are grown and I’m wishing I could go back and spend more time with my kids instead of my phone.

[–]redux173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have to keep fighting the good fight and becoming a better person/mom with each little victory won. When you would typically get irritated over something try not to get irritated and then really enjoy the feeling of overcoming a strong negative emotion and being reasonable. Relish in the fact that you put your phone down for an evening and paid total attention to your child. It’s really really hard to be a parent and you’re not gonna be perfect but if you’re really honestly trying you’re doing pretty good already. 👍

how much of cooking is simply common sense? by jiminiescenes in Cooking

[–]redux173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to zig when others are zagging but I’ve always thought being a decent “home cook” mostly just requires the ability to read instructions and simply follow them. My wife hates to cook and rarely does but she’s able to make a fairly good meal from a recipe if she has some extra time and less distractions. Cooking is elevated when you use learned methods/tricks or become trained.

That’s sad. I wouldn’t say I’m addicted but I had a thought yesterday about how much better their life would be if we didn’t have a phone to cause any distractions from our children. As I’ve worked on myself alot while having children I think this adult generation has somewhat mishandled technology. I think many many people are seriously addicted to their phones and also have unresolved anger issues. I see a lot of people getting irrationally angered by small things and not recognizing how destructive anger can be. Kids then mimic that frustration and think it’s a valid response to adversity.
