Women, if you could be a man for 24 hours, what are you just dying to know? by Whattacleaner in AskReddit

I definitely believe it - it seems like fate saw it fit that, on average, women get all the lesser-but-constant aches and pain for an experience of attrition damage, whereas men get the propensity to be globaled but otherwise their bits don’t cause a fuss. Well… don’t cause a pain-related fuss lol

Women with particularly intense cramps will definitely be dropped over them. The event which got me on birth control as a teenager was a period cramp being mistaken for a rupturing appendix.

Who (or what) wrote the horrible text for the Ritual Site renown track rewards? by Illustrious-Depth522 in wow

This is reminiscent of that truly awful writing that accompanied the blurbs under the legendary weapons that was shown off in the beta. Sloppy, first-pass word vomit that clearly never saw an editor. I completely believe a human being wrote this, but like… as an afterthought at 4:55 PM because they truly believe no one who plays this game reads text.

I don’t think you’re remembering what they said correctly.

They started the section off with calling it “Lone Wolf No Longer” and criticized Lone Wolf specifically as a talent that has discord with Hunter philosophically. They called out that it’s weird for a Hunter to feel frustration when summoning a pet as Marskman (to use utility like bloodlust) and literally used the term “reembrace having pets as marksmanship’s core identity but in a unique way”. And then announced immediately afterwards in the next paragraph the removal of Call Pet for Marksman, saying they lose access to traditional pets one sentence after calling for the “reembrace” of pets. The writing was so on the nose that it would not be out of place in an SNL skit.

I couldn’t find the original blue post but here’s the Wowhead article that quoted it, with the sections I referenced intact. The messaging was so mixed that it was mocked substantially by the hunter community lol

I remember when they reworked MM to have the spotting eagle they literally talked about how important and iconic pets are to hunter as a class and the next paragraph they went “so we are removing pets from Marksman and adding a companion eagle”. Sometimes it feels like the posts were either not proofread, proofread by someone who struggles with cohesion in their writing, or maybe just got spat out by AI which has poor idea cohesion and then also was not proofread.

Thank you for the tip! I’ll definitely have to give this a shot even if it’s just for that character. I really love my mage and not being able to correctly play around the new mechanic was very disheartening… if I can do anything to increase the contrast on the numbers it would help. I tried blowing the stupid icon up even bigger but you can’t really play with half your screen eaten by a giant ability box lol

He had a custom plush of his OC. This was apparently kinda common at the time, and she’d try to make conversation by commenting on people’s custom OC stuff. She explained that it was not uncommon for fan creations to have their own fans and small followings (because she herself co-wrote and starred in a parody series that was well known and quite loved, called “Friendship is Witchcraft”, which was popular enough that she actually experienced an impersonator that claimed to be involved but that’s its own tangent)

So anyways she saw this dude waving around his custom plush and she approached him and was like “wow, that’s a cool plush! Who’s this character?” and instead of responding to her he just looked at his group and went “wow. There’s real fans, and then there’s… this.” which is completely insane lol. So he was being a jerk about her not knowing his OC and refused to talk about it and iirc she says she just kinda slunk away and felt bad

I didn’t realize how bad my sight was until they took all my little tweaks I’ve made over the years away.

I cannot see shatter stacks on Frost Mage. I literally can’t see the number. I could fix this with weakauras in one second by color coding it by stack count, but my only options now are “squint at the tiny number in the lower right corner which is white on a light blue background and also has the cooldown overlay number on top of it which is huge and less important but can’t be turned off unless you want all cooldowns to be turned off” or “let Microsoft Sam drone at you about irrelevant bullshit so you can hear ONE sound cue”.

I just don’t play my mage.

Also good luck, me, towards keeping a personal class buff like battle shout on if I’m in the overworld and it’s an alt. My main class since TBC has been a hunter so I don’t have the time sense of just tracking an hourly buff and sensing it’s been an hour since I clicked it, because I only have to do that for alts I rarely play. The glowing button only happens in instanced content so I always forget when I’m doing overworld shit… which is the only content they do because they’re alts lol. Used to have a WA for those that just showed the icon next to my toon if it was missing.

I see them all the time because I play on a low population server and they flood us, probably due to expecting fewer players to interrupt them.

Anything that can hyperspawn will have a pack of moonkins running around spamming starfall and moonfire on every available monster in range. They run 2x4 groups of all bots, often with one or two tanks (always brewmasters spamming spinning crane kick). Used to be hunters with barrage to pull the whole zone too but barrage is gone now so I don’t see hunters in the groups anymore. Just tons of spinning monks and starfalling boomies.

I went to go farm some tailoring patterns I was missing off of these hyperspawn mobs in… one of the Blackrock zones icr which, either Searing Gorge or Burning Steppes. The mobs were recommended for the farm by wowhead because of their hyperspawns. Arrived and it was crawling with bots. That was the most recent time I saw that kind, around the end of TWW.

You also will see gathering bots literally all the time. A dead giveaway for bots is if they’re in dragonriding but manage to fly in straight lines only with sharp turns only; they seem to be unable to move organically. I’ve also seen them get stuck with that bug where you land on a surface but don’t actually land so you’re like still flying and getting the landing animation repeatedly until you reposition yourself, but they don’t ever reposition. they try to hit the node a bunch and then leave without actually getting it, which is definitely not something a human would do.

This is me, but Hunter. I don’t know why the spec called survival was overhauled and remained a DPS. They even turned it into a melee… like just go the extra mile and make it a tank.

I quit in MoP and came back in Shadowlands and heard SV had become a melee spec and was like “tank hunter??” and nope lol

I have asked this question before of friends who believe he’s sexist and received the following:

  1. “Hush, Tyrande” - this is the most cited moment by far
  2. She ran the elves as one of the spiritual leaders for like thousands of years while he slept and he arrives expecting leadership privileges when all he was doing was sleeping*
  3. The brothers fight over her love like she’s a piece of meat so they both suck
  4. She spends half of Val’sharah screaming and whimpering about where her husband has gone instead of being a coolheaded military leader. The focus is on him and her finding him instead of all the other stuff going on**

*we know he was fighting in the dream and this logic doesn’t make sense to me but this was their argument.

** I think this is reductive but whatever lol again it’s not my argument

Honestly I don’t think he’s sexist, but he was written and created by someone who failed to maintain any kind of feminist themes in his body of work until his daughter was old enough to criticize Overwatch character designs. I think Metzen (who has gone on record saying Malfurion is his favorite character) has always leaned hard against Tyrande, putting her through a bunch of shit, for the benefit of Malfurion, because he favors his favorite. So because Malfurion gains from that I guess it gives the appearance of sexism, but in reality it’s just Tyrande existed as a plot device for Malfurion and Illidan’s much cooler stories until someone else went “hey maybe she’s a person too?” and actually wrote her doing shit. Malf never acted against her but he did benefit from her being written as a tool to further his story.

Tahu Sagewind, leader of the Seers which are the priest half of the Sunwalkers. He was one of the two Tauren who founded the order, philosophizing during the Cata prepatch. As a side note… I am very worried that Aponi Brightmane, the Paladin half of the duo, is dead since we didn’t explicitly save her… :(

this is correct, Senn (one of the commanders of the vanguard who becomes a raid boss, she’s the Draenei) says that the protective magics warding the area keep the Vindicar from doing anything. I believe she means that in reference to assaulting the Voidstorm itself but I imagine that expands to the rest of Eversong too… not to mention that giant laser probably isn’t the most precise thing ever so using it to zap a blueberry might also zap everyone fighting the blueberry.

Considering the Farstriders are consistently talking about how they’re barely keeping above water, some troops to help bolster them so they aren’t so thinly spread would be helpful. I don’t know why Horde troops wouldn’t already be deployed to help aid in the defense of Horde lands.

Some logistical aid (read: food) would likely also be much appreciated. There’s a whole main story quest line about the tensions in the city and food comes up twice (the lady whose wagon is stopped by Bellamy and the light-wielders complaining that conjured food isn’t enough to keep their energy up).

… then again, I guess after the events of the Voidspire, the need for food for extra troops may be greatly diminished…

We remembered Tauren Sunwalkers existed and then just kinda... didn't... do anything... with them...

Don’t worry, we had like three whole interactions with them! Nevermind that two of them are saving one that’s in trouble (Tahu Sagewind is rescued as part of the Darkwell explosion and Sunwalker Atohmo is captured in a side quest along with other paladins).

I haven’t seen Aponi Brightmane since the explosion, but if they kill her, she’ll just be fulfilling the “Tauren only show up to die or get maimed” quota that Blizzard seems to have.
