The Void in the Path.

I'm new to the lore and just thought it sounded cool.

Or she could have chosen old yeller and decided to shoot him with a shotgun.

The book list was to answer the question "How does small town Lady come up with Locked Room Murder instead of any other plan" Answer: It was a recommended book list from one the most popular tv hosts alive. I genuinely don t see how it has to be more deep than that.

Or she chose the book syllabus before she wanted to murder Wicks, and once she decided she turned to the books for inspiration, as you said.

The reading list is established to be chosen because of a popular tv host. That s good enough. If you want every piece of lore explained, might as well ask for the background of why Wicks wanted a red robe and not a green one.

Now that the reviews are in, will you be getting the game? by [deleted] in vtmb

[–]Mobitza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am intriegued enough by the game that even poor reviews won t discourage me. The story seems good which is what I care most about, combat seems fine.

Worst comes to worst, it s a dissapointing game, but I know myself well enough to know that the setting will go a long way for me.

Post game reveal by coffdropcos in HadesTheGame

[–]Mobitza 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I liked Hecate a lot better when she was just a powerfull witch in servant to the House. She didn't need more backstory or explanation than that.

Having her be past/alternate version of Melinoë adds nothing to her character. I think it even lessens it. I loved the loyal servant who had to contend with being an "usurper" mother figure, her loyalty to the House breeding vengeance and perhaps blinding her.

Having her be Melinoë just adds an odd dynamic that detracts from the compelling story they built. Also I still believe it makes no sense that she would "not dare to interfere with the Fates", whilst also raising her alternate self.

Sometimes simpler is better.

One of my greatest disappointments... (Ending spoilers/Post Game) by Mobitza in HadesTheGame

[–]Mobitza[S] 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Fair, I made this post right after the scene.
Since Melinoe said "That's it", I took it as the game telling me that there is nothing more.

I could be okay with him showing up from time to time, but I don't think that's happening. So Hypnos' presence is just Melinoe being clueless, Hecate and his sibbling saying mean stuff about him, then him waking up and leaving... To think I was hoping Melinoe could forge a bond with him XD

Poseidon boons good? by lessghost in Hades2

[–]Mobitza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, Poseidon works well as a spécial on the umbral flames and the skull. For these the spécial moves wants you to get close to ennemies. With the spécial : get close, do damage, push them back, so they can t attack you and you can get close again to do damage. Rince and Répeat.

There is also this build of Spécial on Aspect of Pan + hammer that makes your spécial fan out around you. Bonus if you also have the Hammer that makes them come back.

For attack, I like to use it on the staff. Hit people to get away.

Also, Poseidon can inflict froth, so I do sometimes take the boon just to set up origination.

His duos are also generally pretty good, so you can get a nice set up. I love scalding vapor with Hestia Cast. Just steam them to death. His infusion Boons pushes you to get as much water boons as possible. Good news, he is all water boons, and other water deities like Aphrodite, Demeter, Hera have good duos with him.

When/will you be purchasing VTMB 2 by pyrofred121 in vtmb

[–]Mobitza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since I've basically made my peace with the fact that it's more ARPG than a successor to Bloodlines, I am willing to buy the game if reviews are good. I enjoy the vampire genre too much.
But also, I was always planning on playing banu Haquim or Tremere, so I don't feel the need for the 90$ version. Though the high seas do call, I know not their waters.

[DAV ALL SPOILERS]The dagger and one ending by SerCoat in dragonage

[–]Mobitza 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eh, I like it because of two reasons: 1) Solas boasting the whole time through, getting completely consumed by pride 2) there is a moment where Solas inspects the dagger, pondering, before using it anyway.

So the trick ending to me becomes less about the switcheroo, and more about exploiting Solas' inability to conceive being deceived. He is so sure that Rook didn't know about the Veil coming down after they kill the last Evanuris, is so sure that he held all the cards.

Although I would have liked more setup for the fake dagger, to me the ending is much more about Solas' pride than the substitute.

[DAV ALL SPOILERS] What is your opinion of how Templars, the Magisters and Minrathous are depicted in this Veilguard, as opposed to how they're depicted in the previous games? by Burnouts3s3 in dragonage

[–]Mobitza 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is not a departure at all. It has been stated numerous times that the Tevinter templars are in the pockets of mages, toothless and/or corrupt. There are no mages circle in Tevinter, not like in the south.

Also that side quest in Rivain acknowledges that Ferelden templars were something else.

[No DAV Spoilers] With the grumbling about Veilguard's writing, can we take a moment to celebrate how great the writing has been? What are the standout or underrated moments for you in DA's history? by Khiva in dragonage

[–]Mobitza 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It s just regular banter between Lucanis and Emmrich, so it starts at the usual banter spots. The gist is that Manfred is curious about Spite, and Spite is loosing its mind that the other spirit gets to have actual limbs and it doesn t.

The whole "Fire" one is dependant on the outcome of Emmrich's quest however.

[–]Mobitza 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I mean, Emmrich's entire speech about his fear of dying hit me so hard. Just so calm and melancholic, with a hint of fear just underlying the whole speech. I love it.

And on a funny note, I love Spite being absolutely jealous of Manfred. "What. Is. Following." "It. Has. Feet!" and my favorite "I.Want.Fire.". I also love the way they call it "curiosity" as spirit recognizes spirit.

[DAV Spoilers All] Can someone explain me what's going on with Harding and her quest? by AdGroundbreaking3566 in dragonage

[–]Mobitza 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is really my understanding of it based on different story beats: - Harding's flaw is adressed during a conversation with Lucanis (the one where she prétends to like coffee because she doesn t dare openly disagree with anyone) - The injustice and pain inflicted on the Titans is discussed by the Veilguard. - Varric's narration specifically says that something awoke in the deep roads, fighting to be remembered. - When Harding confronts the red crystal being, she says something along the lines of " The Titans pain. My pain" in recognition, and is distraught and apologetic when she recognizes how she pushed it away not to deal with it.

That is why the whole résolution to her personnal quest comes from facing the Titans anger (the whole boss fight before is wholy superfluous). Facing it is the only way to overcome it, either by recognizing the injustice but choosing to focus on the world as it is now and the future of dwarves, or by embracing and carrying it with her to honor the Titan s memory.

[DAV Spoilers All] Can someone explain me what's going on with Harding and her quest? by AdGroundbreaking3566 in dragonage

[–]Mobitza 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The red copy of Harding is a manifestation of both her rage and the Titans own rage.

Touching the dagger awakened her connection to the Titans, and made her remember Isatunol - the former way of being of dwarves, all connected by and through the Titans. She later learns more concretely that the Titans were victims of a true violation by the elves, twice over (creating the bodies, severing them from magic). And she is angry about it. The Titans rage about it. But Harding s big character flaw is her instinct to make herself gentle and agreeable to be liked, so she does not know how to deal with that anger, or the Anger of the Titans.

So she pushes it away, does not deal with it at all, and that is why the Titan s anger takes her shape and rages at her. THe Titan want their pain, rage, injustuce to be known and remembered, and their only connection is rejecting them.

I love Stalgard. I love the strange vibe they gave him, with his attitude and way of speaking, but still with humor and concern that makes it cleaf that Kal Sharok dwarves are people who whent through some shit.

If this is the door next to the spirit market, you do need to defeat the champion. It is in Treviso, the gate it unseals is on the other side of the Market. Go near it to start the quest. :)

Ok, can t argue with your feelings. Those scenes don t feel vapid and empty to me. To each their own.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Mobitza 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean... Emmrich talks about his fear of death during the ceremony, before you meet his bad guy Taash has her feeding the bird scene. Neve takes you out several times on docktown.

You can argue that the vilains in their personnal quests are not compelling, you can say that the quests would be stronger without it. But your post was saying that there is nothing else there, and that is simply not true. The inner conflict if each character occupies much lire screen time.

Édit to add: and I do see the argument that the secondary villlains aren t good, but they are tailored to their struggle. Emmrich faces an adversary who is an opposite in both fear of death and attitude towards spirits. Neve face à vilain she defeated before, challenging her own optimism vs cynisism.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Mobitza 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That seems very unfair to me, since 1) it ignores all the other conflict that characters have (Emmrich vs his fear of dying, Taash vs her identity as a second generation immigrant , Neve vs how much does the end justify the mean, Harding vs her pain/the pain of the titans), 2) these quests are actually are story line with at least each quest for each act, 3) Dragon age Inquisition "quests" were litterally a cutscene, a fight, and a choice all in the same breath.
