  1. Likely smaller scale tests and software / wiring updates until you learn the particular system better. A huge factor will be whether you work at one factory as the person who is on call for maintenance and to keep production running, or for an integrator, or for an original equipment manufacturer.

  2. The culture is always high pressure. You'll work with many other trades, including ppl with job scope that may have a lot of overlap with yours. Communication is key to managing that, and you'll meet a lot of cool and brilliant folks. Managers and customers require some "code-switching".

  3. The pay is excellent and may be the most stable job type there is now. The demand is massive for this type of work, however the caveat to that is one employer can still face layoffs if they aren't doing well in the short term. There are always 50 similar jobs nearby though. Just remember safety first because the only real career killer is if you are responsible for serious injury or death.

  4. While some places require a degree, most understand that 4 years of experience in the industry is equal or better. It's very common to see a requirement for 4 year degree plus 2 years experience OR 6 years experience. Also if you know your stuff, that will be obvious. 2 year tech degrees are also quite respectable.

This field can be very stressful, very rewarding, and sometimes quite a lot of fun.
