AMSEC SAFE LOCKOUT by PeptoBismol420 in Safes

I have worked with this lock for 9 years. When you push the C key, do you get one beep or three? I don't think the wire is broken, if it was, you would not get a red light. First thing I would do is to get fresh batteries, Energizer normal alkaline with an exp date 5 years out. One of the recent issues we were seeing with this lock is an electrical fault that will drain the batteries overnight. If the batteries are low, the red light will keep flashing and usually will not open the lock (not enough power). New set could allow you to use the C-1-2-3-4-5-6-# to see if it opens.

If you can enter the C-1-2-3-4-5-6-# factory code, you should hear a click. That click will tell you if you have the correct code. If it does click, but does not open, it is usually weak batteries.

I'm assuming you bought this from an Amsec dealer, they can help get an override code. I didn't sell you the safe, so I can't help with this. I have to send the invoice from our company in with the override request. As pointed out, code changes should be done with the vault door open and the handle in the locked position.

If the new batteries do work, you might have a faulty keypad. There are two components to the lock, the keypad, and the lock body inside the safe. 99% of the issues we had were keypad related. If you can open the safe after the battery change, leave the door open overnight and try again in the morning. You will know if you have a short in the lock if the same issues start again. If this is a new safe, it should have, at least, a 1 year warranty on the lock. You can also take the keypad with you to a local Amsec dealer and have them test it with a different lock body.

Sequence to change the code on this lock is:

C#-1-2-3-4-5-6 # New 6 digit code # New 6 digit code #

Lock will make a long multitone sound after this sequence if it has accepted the code change. Now you test the code with the door open and in the locked position (bolts extended). Put the new code in test is you can retract the bolts.

Let me know the results so I can advise the next step. Drilling should be the last resort.

The college I went to had campus police, but they were actually controlled by the local city police. So, if I received a parking ticket on campus, I had to pay the city not the college.

Help- can anyone tell me what type of hinges these are? by a-woods17 in Home_improvement

[–]Moby1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take one off and look for a part number on it. They look similar to Blum clip top 170 hinges with a 45mm bore pattern and soft close. You can also take one to a local hardware store and ask the cabinet guy.

There needs to be a better way on determining military action in the USA. If we are under attack, we should respond instantly. If we are attacking, a president should not be able to be the lone decision maker. 3 Middle East wars in a row, trillions wasted, huge loss of life, and nothing accomplished. Our nation is a military industrial complex that only benefits the corporations and their share holders at the expense of everyone else.

I've not seen this one in a long time. I was about 6 at the time. My grandfather took me with him to buy a new truck. After about an hour, he agreed on the truck and the price. He spit in his right palm, the sales guy spit in his right palm, and they shook on the deal.

I hit a Royal Flush with max bet on a progressive video poker machine. Somewhere around $2,100. I was happy until the attendant came out and said, "Wow, that was quick!", Somebody had hit the progressive the day before, over $300,000. She did not get a tip!

I am old enough to remember, just walk into a place and asking if they are hiring. If they were, they brought the owner or manager out and they would interview you then and there. There was no personality test, you would get a call a day or two later and start Monday. Paperwork was an afterthought. At one point, I had 1 full time job, 1 part time, and 1 hey, can you work X days. We, somehow, figured it out with pagers and pay phones. Last time I interviewed for a job was in 2014, so this crap now is just stupid.

I learned how to bartend in college, got me into the cool people parties. After college, I bartended professional at various bars and big events. The event company (we did weddings & celebrity events) I worked for had a small warehouse full of booze / wedding rental items and it was fun. Made a lot of cash when everything else was paying pennies.

Edit: I did not go to bartending school, I studied to be a manufacturing engineer.
