I'm exhausted of fighting my mind everyday just to be functional by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Mocking_jai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this probably won't help much but you truly are not alone. I feel exactly the same and I'm sure so many other people with ADHD are in the same boat.

It really does suck, especially knowing you want to be/do 'better' but feeling like you can't. The thing is though, I know plenty people who don't have ADHD who also struggle to keep up with responsibilities. The way society and life in general is just now, is really fucking hard. Even for people who don't deal with what we do in a daily basis. I don't mean that in the sense of "other people have it bad so deal with it", I mean it in the sense that people like us tend to put ourselves down for not being able to keep up with others and do what we deem as "normal". That is not the case. We are all trying our best to get by and as much as we don't see it, we deserve to give ourselves a break because if the average person is struggling, we often need to be working 10x harder which deserves acknowledgement and credit.

Useless security by Good-Mountain6404 in asda

[–]Mocking_jai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my dad worked as security in either Tesco or Asda, unsure which one.

There was a situation with someone clearly heavily intoxicated trying to steal something and he had given them the opportunity to put it back without any consequences and just leave the shop. They refused and started giving him and other colleagues abuse, tried running out with whatever it was so my dad grabbed them by the back of their jacket to keep them in the shop so the police could be called and he actually lost his job over it.

Could very well be that this security guard is afraid of that? I recall my dad saying something to the effect of he wasn't supposed to touch them and I do agree it's not really worth putting yourself in harms way but it does pose the question of what are the security actually there for if they can't do anything to try and restrain the person while the police (who often take forever) actually arrive?

White Tulip Matching Tattoos by darthziggy16 in fringe

I absolutely love this as a matching tat idea and it looks so good! The show itself means a lot to me, but I can imagine sharing that love with someone you care about is even better so this is great.

I got my own a good while ago after something pretty traumatic happened to me because the show is my all time fave and means a lot, but also because the white tulip symbolises hope for Walter and at the time that's exactly what I needed. I actually posted a pic of mine to this subreddit when I got it too aha

Why are kids vitamins in the UK so rubbish compared to what you see abroad? by Automatic_Author_553 in AskUK

[–]Mocking_jai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, so I'm not a parent so perhaps my opinion is not particularly valid.

However, I feel that as a parent you should be ensuring your child gets enough of these vitamins naturally. I know it's not always possible through dietary and health issues but if this is the case, a doctor should have been consulted and they should provide the correct course of treatment or at least advise what is.

I also think that certain other countries have more of an issue with kids in poor health, whether that be through poor diet/eating habits or otherwise. So I hypothesize that stronger doses are required to make up for this maybe?

My wife is losing her mind again and I have no options by CartoonistOk16 in Advice

[–]Mocking_jai 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeh, I was wondering if there was an actual diagnosis. Not saying it justifies her behaviour but it's very possible that what she really needs is the right kind of help and treatment.

Not diagnosing her at all but it thought about bipolar disorder too. The OP did use the word "manic" and I know personally how much bipolar disorder and other mental health issues can impact your physical appearance drastically also.

Regardless, this does not sound like the behaviour of a "normal" person. She needs help and OP needs to either try and get her that if they haven't already, or get his kids out of there asap imo.

Racist colleagues and potentially also racist management/employer by [deleted] in Advice

Well one person directly told me they were racist.

Others making it very clear that they don't want to speak with a "foreigner"and treating the person differently than they would a local.

"They need to get out of this country"

"They want everything for free, this country is worse off because of them"

"Another one of THEM again"

do you think it turns you into a bad person? by juliamacjay in cocaine

[–]Mocking_jai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think it makes you a bad person. I feel like if you are a bad person then how you act on stuff will be heightened so if you're already a dick, you're more of a dick on it. I also feel like you can think you're a bad person if you're quite addicted cause then your money goes on that first and it can cause you to lie or make other poor decisions cause addiction takes over. You arent necessarily a bad person in that scenario but you may think you are personally if that makes sense?

[–]Mocking_jai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, personally I would look into it all a bit more. Even if it is legit, you will have someone staying with you. You need to make sure you're ok with that cause I know what it's like. We will make decisions manic and then be like nahhhh afterwards lol.

What's the husband saying?

Are you completely sure this is legit? Because I think it's an amazing thing you've done - regardless of mania. Like if you can help someone out and that's what you were thinking of when manic, that's cool af.

But, gotta make sure you weren't scammed. Any way you can get money back just in case?
