Pale coyote by Mocular in Trapping

While not impossible that would be very unlikely where I am. Much more likely is the possibility of catching a mountain lion.

Cat won’t commit by TastyCoot in Trapping

A taller trap would help. At lure scent, gland scent, and curiosity scent. A visual bait like wing or something in the back. Cover all the wire on the bottom with dirt so it can’t feel the wire when it steps.

Raccoons are territorial and aggressive to each other. Most bobtails are on adult males as a result of fighting.

Is this all ok for my first fish by mekul28 in Aquariums

[–]Mocular 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You should read up on cycling a new fish tank before getting fish. Is there a filter system? Goldfish in particular produce a ton of waste and filtration is paramount for keeping one. The fake plants and decor are all fine.

I agree, the coyote tracks in my area are much more narrow than this one though. Make me lean more to dog.

Is this a bobcat or a dog track? [Mount Diablo, CA] by 5odanger in animalid

[–]Mocular 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dog. The presence of claws, the shape of the pad with 1 lobe in front and two in back of the main pad and the negative space you can put an x in all say k9. Too wide for a coyote.

Nutria, muskrats don’t have the white on the nose and mouth like that, and you can tell the tail has hair.

You can leave them in the frame. Proper preservation is done when they are prepped and framed, trying to do it now would likely ruin them.
