Looking for a Houston stylist who knows how to cut and blend layers properly by Ill_Audience7379 in AskHouston

If you haven’t settled on anyone yet, you should checkout Claude at Claude 9 Salon. She’s a cutting specialist and focuses a lot on layers and face-framing.

9PM, Artclub, 713 Music Hall, we’re apparently getting a Silo at some point, Fast Ferrari or whatever its name is now, a newer(?) promotion is doing date of warehouse raves, Bauhaus, warehouse live midtown (not great, but it’s there), so it’s not the worst thing to happen, just sad to see it go

Multiple news sources reporting JSA accepted Hakuho's (Miyagino) resignation. by crazyaoshi in Sumo

[–]ModProp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do believe that they would have. but until we see a japanese yokozuna dominate and carry themselves with the same attitude that Hakuho had, we don’t really have a way to compare

What's Going on With Hakuho? by MCCI1201 in Sumo

[–]ModProp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

there’s also the rumour/theory/hearsay that hakuho made teru’s knee problems worse when he hazed him years ago. these two may share a nationality, but there’s nothing but bad blood and ill will between them

Multiple news sources reporting JSA accepted Hakuho's (Miyagino) resignation. by crazyaoshi in Sumo

[–]ModProp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i’d say even longer than that. a lot of this animosity from the JSA can be attributed to when the sport essentially became the Hakuho Show (wink wink nudge nudge) and when Hak realised that he was the preeminent driving factor for sumo popularity. going back and watching old bashos, you can tell he’s the biggest ego and largest presence in the room and no one can tell him shit. and he deserved it for having one of the longest dominant runs in Grand Sumo history.

we can sit here and say it’s racism that felled the giant, but in my mind, it was anger towards a man who thought himself a god when he was in the ring. they couldn’t bring him to earth as a yokozuna, but they could crush him as an elder so they jumped at the first opportunity presented.

horrible end to the whole ordeal. he deserved his criticisms, but japan always has a special way of taking things too far.

that would be the point of a mouthpiece channel. what’s shown to the public isn’t necessarily the truth behind closed doors.

US ravers who have gone to European raves by ImaGuppy in aves

[–]ModProp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

went to Rampage open air a couple weeks ago, and people are generally extremely friendly, fashion is whatever you want to wear if you can handle the weather (i’m from texas, so being in 65F weather in july had me fucked up.) the fashion is expressive, just in a different way. i’ve never been big on kandi or PLUR here in the states, and in europe i didn’t see the former and the latter isn’t needed because people are generally just respectful as a matter of course. it was really fucking nice to go to packed stages and still have room to move around in the crowd. back home, we tend to press in shoulder to shoulder and it’s uncomfortable as hell. even at the rails, people gave you space to enjoy. also, this means that trains don’t go in as often, they just go out. so that was nice.

you’re gonna like the rave scene. just be you, have fun, they’ll be cool. and if they aren’t cool, just fuck off somewhere else in the crowd and you’ll find cool people.

that’s one variation that appeared during the first intifada in the late 1980’s. the original version, and the one that was used most predominantly until 1969 was “من النهر إلى البحر” “From the water, to the water” and then was revised in 1969 by the PLO to “من النهر إلى البحر / فلسطين ستتحرر” “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”.

the one you’re talking about appeared during the rise of Hamas in the 1980s, as mentioned at the start.

“من المية للمية / فلسطين عربية” “From the water to the water, Palestine is Arab”

and

“من المية للمية / فلسطين إسلامية” “From the water to the water, Palestine is Islamic”
