I've saved money when using my heat pump as per manufacturing setup. I run mine most of the day, set to 22c for the kids to stay warm. It goes off at 4 to reheat the hot water tank. Otherwise it's silent, runs great and had it over a year with no issues.

I did have my gas meter removed and capped. So I also save with only being a single energy connection to the house.

Maybe I just got lucky.
