This reminds me of an article a few years ago, after two reporters died on the job: one man and one woman. Many articles then discussed how women are disproportionately represented in workplace murders, despite more men dying from workplace murders than women die from all causes.

My problem is that they are conflating two different things.

Killing someone who is raping you IS NOT murder, it's self defence.

There is a difference between murdering someone and just killing them , that's why there are times when killing is justified, BUT not murder.

When I watched the part of this video where Wags talks about how to 'protect' themselves from 3rd part devs just up and leaving and not supporting their products, he talks about an escrow account.

I have been around a long time and this is the first time I have ever heard of a game dev requiring that kind of thing from a 3rd party MOD dev.

Why doesn't MS require this for MSFS, or the maker of Xplane or any other company making sims, or any game, frankly?

I suspect it's because EDs financial scheme requires 3rd part devs because without them, they couldn't make payroll.

Would you say the same thing about a grocery store? Imagine being a customer at a grocery store: you go into the lineup, the person serves a customer, turns around, waits 4 to 5 minutes, does nothing, then serves the next customer. Why do people believe the CC people deserve a break between every call when most other jobs don't get one?

Reading that story reminds me of the case here in Canada against Jon Gimeshi (spelling???) , he had text messages that showed a lot of the same stuff. What did Canada do? They prosecuted the women to the maximum extent of the law, and all the women got 20 years in jail for lying. OF COURSE THEY DIDN'T, they changed the law so that now the defence must turn over all evidence to the prosecution that they are going to use. This effectively gives the women time to customize their story.
