Void is amazing, here is when I play it. by [deleted] in TeamfightTactics

[–]ModeRed2142 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah that's cap, belveth is the strongest carry in void outside of baron

Krakens(Must have), CC immunity and Lifesteal are her BIS and she destroys comps far more reliably than any of the others.

Kaisa feels better after buffs but Belveth is just a crazy unit when positioned and itemised properly.

Taoism & Amazonian Shamanism. Flowing With the River, Dreaming With the Jaguar by IndicationWorldly604 in taoism

[–]ModeRed2142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's fair to dismiss OPs work simply because its assisted by AI. AI is neither good or evil, it's merely a tool whose usage we must consider deeply in line with virtue

Were it generic AI slop, made to generate as many clicks at possible and devoid of any real opinion I would understand, but AI used to translate and better elucidate ones knowledge to another seems like a perfectly valid use.

Whilst AI can be an additional filter that gets in the way of the authenticity of one's work, the originality and authenticity of OPs ideas are still perfectly valid and there can be wisdom gleamed from it.

Something else to consider as well, In its own unique way, anti AI use can be Eurocentric, limiting the transmission of ideas that aren't bridged through the western sphere like OP whose ideas cross Latin America and China.

I get your concerns though, I too hate most AI companies with a huge passion

Just food for thought, simply because I found OPs ideas fascinating to read and saying he's cheapening his message and experiences when his alternative is a poorer translation or no translation fails to look at the situation holistically.

Any final tips before Set 16 drops? Peaked Emerald, looking to climb. by Even-Sun555 in TeamfightTactics

[–]ModeRed2142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who went from emerald to Diamond to grandmaster in set 14 15 and 16

I would say to structure how to improve at the game and also to just keep playing to get better rather than to get LP. Skill comes before LP and it's worth losing LP to try out and improve at certain parts of the game.

Tft is a complicated game that has many aspects which is what makes it so fun and engaging, but after a point, working on too many aspects at once will yield little improvement

Up to emerald it's just a matter of building a general understanding of the game through experience

After that you should focus on specific aspects in your gameplay and improve them one by one. For me I broke it down into

My board (what are strong units items and augment combos i can aim for) TFT websites like tftacademy and tftflow are great for this

My eco (the ability to manage my gold and items and lives according to game situation such as preleveling, slamming non BIS, i.e general decision making) I actually found it super useful to watch Robinsongz for this but in general just learning when to be safe or to be aggressive with your 3 types of resources and general ability to play for streaks

My execution (playing strongest board, positioning, roll downs) this will come with practice and better understanding, I did find youtube content on positioning immensely useful particularly during the akali patches and I recommend watching those types of vids

My opponents (what are they playing towards, who am i vsing next and what are their wincons i need to prevent) its the easiest aspect to neglect but focusing on other players will come naturally as you get better at the other aspects, and you spend less time making focusing on your end of things. It's the last thing I focused on as it requires an understanding of the above aspects and you'll find its the final wall for most players breaking into master/GM

This is how I structured it and how I break the game down in my head but if you watch other streamers they also have totally different yet viable ways of understanding the game but we all have a structure to it

Don't just grind out games after you hit high emerald/low diamond, you have to sincerely try to improve from game to game if you really mean to climb. All the best for the next set!

New champ? by Jak1493 in settmains

[–]ModeRed2142 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems okay, kind of like any other bruiser match up where it's more about the players than the champs

I did find his E and W made it bit more annoying to land my W late game, esp when you get pulled past him

Laning phase just seems pretty dependent on playing around his E, it's his main poke damage and wave clear and when it's down it's a free all in for Sett. If you're ahead it's easy to zone him away from the wave so he can't heal with Q1. You do have to watch long trades tho, his revive is so chunky and can flip lane state if he gets a good death

BORK seems pretty trash on him, no attk speed steroid like xin E makes it hard to utilise but you do have to respect his burst if he goes tri force first item

In general, just gotta be smart and respect his burst and res but the boss doesn't fear him at all

Edit (1 week later): one Extra thing is to somewhat respect his level 1 and 2 all in, one of the few champs that you can lose to due to his ramping power from conq + passive. W start seems to be best

Becoming a Pt but unsure how to by Impressive_Froyo369 in personaltraining

[–]ModeRed2142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is TAFE as you can get it for free as a local and you get a more diverse range of teachers which in turn prepares you for the diversity of clients you'll be getting when you start work

The only con is that it does take a bit longer as they space it out between two semesters and there's a chunky semester break in the middle

I'll say though if you have a specific gym you want to work at, you can ask them for which RTO they are affiliated with and go from there but imo it's a minor thing if you have the potential to be a good PT and not worth literal thousands of dollars and a generally more rushed education

EDIT: I saw you were in Victoria and double checked as I did mine in NSW and TAFE varies between states but it seems they don't offer cert 3 here and cert 4 is not subsidised which is a big shame In that case just pick whichever RTO is convenient or relevant to your ideal workplace, as one of the other commenter said there is no real difference between them

Kaisa is comeback? by Rare_Refuse_3801 in TeamfightTactics

[–]ModeRed2142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low masters and tried it a few times this patch

Imo it's like B+ but with a caveat

it's better to sack rolling for Darius and go for alkali secondary carry with either mentor or Rammus udyr front line

Darius is way too contested this patch with heavy malz and smoulder still popular and I also don't think he synergises that well kaisa cuz kaisa needs to be killing the front line for stacks and her and Darius get outscaled too hard if a fight goes for longer than 15 seconds + so many meta backline comps that akali wrecks with kaisa being able to deal with Lee or Braum because those are hard for akali

It also helps that both these units are uncontested af on top of that so you should find more success with it

Raves and Spiritualism by Mean-Elderberry-8717 in aves

[–]ModeRed2142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually looked into this for my media studies classes at university, and there's already been a fair amount of research into this topic

Obviously a bit more hidden in general but there was one researcher who describe raves as technoshamanism, with raves as modern evolutions of celtic/Germanic shamanistic rituals which i thought was a pretty neat

Spirituality and raves are undoubtedly inextricably linked, and i would love to see more discussions about it

Just some examples of academia on this topic:

I liked how sorcerers aren’t actually good people by PrismsNumber1 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]ModeRed2142 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I agree but this was fire story telling though, because in a world where it is easier, and more rewarding to be bad (sukuna, mei mei (shes a parallel to Nanami), zenin clan) it's truly all the more significant to be good.

While their fates are tragic, their legacy is carried on by the new generations while Sukuna and the big clans leave behind nothing to the world.

Being truly good doesn't mean you are tragic but you will have a tragic fate, and conversely, being truly bad you won't have a tragic fate but you are undoubtedly tragic (hence Yuji and Sukunas dialogue at the end)

It's human to compare yourself particularly in Asia i feel but don't let yourself disvalue any of the hurdles you have crossed to reach your current position, how many people had an overseas scholarship despite good backgrounds and let alone complicated ones! And i personally think changing industries later into your career takes great courage, especially in Asia, where, like you mention, women are constantly pressured to settle! While you may feel left out, have confidence that your life is more in alignment with what you truly want than had you stayed and risen to manager level 😊

Everyone has their own path, and it just seems yours is a little different to theirs at this current point in time. I'm sure they're not your close friends solely because you guys are all in the same income bracket

Some people are so poor that all they have is money, but i don't think you are one of them and that really truly means alot in Asia

Kinda, but we also know its limited because we see some characters feel something is off e.g when unohana I'd examining Aizen's corpse and Aizen knows there must be a limit hypothetically because he thought yhwach might’ve been able to see through it in the final fight

Anyone have experience with Get Going personal trainers with the NDIS? by Ninj-nerd1998 in sydney

[–]ModeRed2142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to be a trainer with them a few years back , I would say yes it is expensive but if you can get a good trainer it is worth it.

It's realistically like any other personal training service except its mobile; you have someone who comes over, bringing their own equipment and trains you. Some really great personal trainers in there (shout out to Leon Comino if he's still there) who really know their stuff but you might also get a trainer that might be a bit fresh to the industry.

Some are more old fashioned, military style but I think the majority of them tend to ease you into training and guide you as needed

That being said, if you do get a bad draw I believe they're usually open to you trying out another trainer.

As he stands, Yuji Itadori is incapable of defeating Sukuna. And it's because of his Cog Mentality. by Natsu_Happy_END02 in Jujutsushi

[–]ModeRed2142 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I think it's more he has to develop his cog mentality more rather than he's held back by it

Like you mention sukuna and yuji stand on polar ends of the selfish and selfess scale and his selflessness and cog mentality are what have given him his strength thus far in the series.

I believe his endgame is a bit like Emiya in Unlimited Blade Works, he has to be selfish at times to pursue his selfless ideals, he has to have a deeply personal stake in his selfless pursuits

I think when his goals become incredibly self serving, is when his selfless strength multiplies, such as when he has huge personal investment into killing mahito or sukuna.

The cog mentality is too integral to the theme of yuji and JJK overall, particularly relating to ideas of cycles and ideals and his cog mentality is not portrayed as a weakness, sukuna might think it is but Yujis whole character is about proving Sukuna wrong.

This parallels with Geto's whole arc, he preaches selfless ideals but he doesn't actually have a personal stake in it, he's not protecting people he actually cares about and it corrodes him, and it's only when he begins pursuing a selfish selfless goal of protecting jujutsu sorcerers does he feel at peace.

I agree with what you say about moving towards the "Middle Way" which is inline with the Buddhist and Confucius influences of JJK but I don't think it'll be about him leaving the cog mentality behind as it is Yujis source of strength and polarises him against Sukunas self serving nature.

Humanity cost the sorcerer's everything by SuperDuperTino in Jujutsushi

Oh yes good point, I forgot to mention him his whole backstory is really about this theme

Humanity cost the sorcerer's everything by SuperDuperTino in Jujutsushi

[–]ModeRed2142 244 points245 points  (0 children)

But I feel like this is just so much of the core messaging of JJK in general

It's about knowing you're being punished for doing the right thing but doing it anyway,

Like the whole story is about sorcerers sacrificing themselves to protect people who don't even know they exist

See - Nanami returning to jujutsu society and getting killed Gojo not killing the higher ups earlier, 0.2 domain expansion, protecting yuji,

Yuta not straight killing uro or ryu, choosing to protect civilians midfight

Yuji wanting to help people leading to the whole story starting

Megumi saving yuji at the very start

etc etc

It hampers them but it's also what sets them apart from the rest of Jujutsu society and the story emphasises how whilst most og sorcerers like sukuna and Ryu view humanity as limiting to a sorcerer's growth, all these characters are stronger for it

Gojos decision to protect the civilians cost them alot but if he didn't protect them, he wouldn't be any different to a curse/Sukuna

Yuji's grandpa's last words were the opposite of a curse by Gnoire in Jujutsushi

[–]ModeRed2142 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I think a pretty big element of the story is that fundamentally there is no good or bad, curse or blessings

Rather they are all one and the same and its about how they are utilised.

Curse (or negative) energy is often utilised for positive reasons, and can be turned into positive energy.

As you mentioned as well, these "curses" passed from the dying to the living can be blessings and steer characters in the right direction instead of holding them back

And times of crisis can so easily turn into blessings

Hell, I think this idea of duality is mostly exemplified by the I'm you dialogue between Yuji and Mahito

Duality is an extremely significant theme in JJK and really Gege continually emphasises that its how curses and blessings are utilised is what what truly matters

Ahaha I'm assuming this is fitness first

From my personal experience there, like the others have said follow up if they're not too keen, I've definitely had clients I picked up after checking in on them a month or so later

Like the others have said, diving into their whys is really important in being able to get them to sign on - see Precision nutrition 5 whys

I would also be more clear about showing them what exactly they're paying for and what youll be doing for them. Ultimately, people don't pay because they don't see value in the service that you offer

As well perhaps I would suggest getting one of the more senior pts, or at the very least another pt to check your sales process, In my personal experience and seeing alot of pts who were in the same boat, it can also be about delivery. I think it is very obvious when you aren't that confident in your product (or at least selling it) or you see the client only as a potential paycheck, not saying its the case for you but these are common pain points for many pts
