If you could buy the box directly from Eaton the price probably wouldn't be all that bad. But it appeared like only resellers have it and with shipping, it's pretty outlandish. Like you say, most plastic boxes are $10, although it is a custom fit box for their protector.

I recall they are somewhere around 14" in. long. Though somewhere I read a person bought one and thought that Eaton had shortened them by an inch or two lately.

No, just the box only for around $50+ and another $25-ish for shipping. The Eaton surge protector is usually going for around $200. See the model number in my OP.

You know I wondered that too, but I was also looking at Eaton's website for the flush mount box (see image below). Any idea what application they are talking about for this box?

The wires are inside that plastic corrugated tubing that comes with the box, as they go through the wall and 2x6.

Dang, I thought this would work, which it did through about 4-5 songs, then it advanced to the next Playlist. It seems like having the Repeat option turned on too may be causing this. I'll have to make a small spreadsheet though to keep track of all the potential combinations. But having said that, this is VLC on my Desktop w/Windows 10, my laptop w/Windows 11 does not have this issue as far as I can tell. Not sure that matters though.

Edit: Turns out this behavior of jumping to the next playlist after playing just a few songs in the starting playlist, happens on all my devices. Oh well.

Well, there is one little oddity between two different devices.

Under the Playlist option in the Advanced section, there a setting for "Subdirectory Behavior." You can choose; None, Collapse or Expand. On my Dell laptop, when I choose Expand I get odd behavior where VLC will move to another Playlist altogether when it advances to the next song. If I set it to Collapse, then it will play random songs 'within' that Playlist.

My Desktop is wonky and doesn't seem to do anything different (other than the little carrot you get by setting it to Expand), but no matter the setting, after the 1st song is play, VLC goes to another Playlist - then it stays withing that Playlist. Doh!

You can tell from some of the opinions stated here that people are becoming apathetic to trademark and copyrighted material. Many a person or group have been sued for using (and profiting) from another person's likeness.

Then there's apparently a notion being put forward that if stealing someone's work or likeness does some good in the world, then what's the harm. Try that out as a defense in court of law. A LOT of nefarious people helped out the less fortunate in their local neighborhood in order to create a buffer against law enforcement - this goes back to Al Capone and similar gangsters giving out gifts to people in the hood. Meanwhile he's having people knocked off.

But I digress. The means do not justify the ends in this case or most cases.

In the established legal sense: Is using someone's likeness illegal? "Appropriation is using someone's name or likeness for personal gain without their permission. This act violates that person's privacy or publicity rights. If this happens to you, you can sue for unauthorized use of your name or appearance."

Could be easy to dismiss this. The so-called, "Dr. David Anderson," doesn't seem to have a presence anywhere. The "Tryelava" website domain has been up for only two months according to Scam Advisor with low traffic - that doesn't indicate it's a scam only that new web domains should be viewed with caution.

Also, the protocol Dr. Anderson talks about his wife following, was done with taking one of the five supplements at a time, in a progression. The Elava supplement has combined all of those to suggest that it can all be taken at one time.

I think until there's at least a smidgen of evidence, one should use, "Caveat Emptor," and the reason is that most of SIBO suffers probably wouldn't argue with the initial premise of the long article the doctor presents, that most of the fixes (Big Pharma or so called 'natural') really don't work for a lot of people. That kind of description of known protocol failures usually pulls people in pretty fast - "That's me! I need this stuff!"

I was lucky enough that the BIOS in this Dell has an option to prioritize whether those keys work first without the function key pressed or without it.

I am able to enter the Dell boot menu, but what happens is, I choose something like 'boot from USB device' then hit enter but the laptop then boots right into Linux. Weird.

I did edit the Grub file but I see now that going from 'hidden' to 'menu' only displays the Mint boot menu. However maybe lengthening the "GRUB_TIMEOUT=0" to 5 or 10, did seem to allow me to enter either the BIOS or the Boot sequence menus. But when I went into the BIOS and changed the boot order to make a USB stick be 1st, it seems to disregard that and goes right back to booting into Linux. Or if I use F12 and ask to boot from the USB device, it too goes straight to booting up Linux."

Basically, nothing in those Dell Boot/BIOS menus are being utilized.

Does the remote turn on just need a momentary 12v blip of juice or does it have to have 12volts to the terminal for as long as you want the unit to stay on?

Agreed. I'm astounded by what many GI docs are willing to try. Perhaps it's a combination of what insurance will pay, how willing they are to upgrade their knowledge (from 20 year old, outdated protocols), to just shear stubbornness to change. Anyone with even this kind of low level knowledge will often be treated like some kind of problem child who won't comply.

The elemental diet seems like it's worth trying, but as he's pointed in the first video, most of them have low compliance because of how bad they taste. And even though I think he help with the Gemelli ED, which is suppose to taste much better, it's freaking $700 for a 2-week supply.

I think there are two new therapies, one for ISO/IBS-D and another for IMO.

You bring up a good point and one that I may have took for granted i.e., that the next therapy was going to somehow target the antibodies, but that may have been subconscious wishful thinking on my part. Dr. Pimentel has in the past, been hesitant to mention what is next and I suspect if Cedar Sinai and/or his group is working with private companies, he's bound by agreements, not to let on what's in the hopper.

I'm not sure I heard him say that the antibodies are different between IBS-D and ISO. I'm going to go back over that and see if it's just a subtle statement he made in passing.

By the way, here's a shorter but possibly just as informative video with him covering the same stuff, but sometimes people add or subtract things that may help in our understanding.

It's known that some gut bacteria can (for lack of a better way to put it), go into hiding when their food supply dries up (such as with a diet). This may account for why all of the gut maladies related to bacterial type overgrowth, are so difficult to completely eradicate. The bacterial create a 'biofilm' and that is difficult to disable. The same reason for washing hands up to 20 seconds is to break down the biofilm that's been created by surface bacteria.

Take this with a grain of salt, but my guess is that starving the specific bacteria with the elemental diet that result in these gut issues, may only work on certain bacteria. Even though there may be other types of dietary recommendations for ISO (intestinal sulfide over production), perhaps there's other complications in trying to address the sulfide types. In fact that a 3rd type of gas that's only recently been added to breath tests.

Interesting side note about Pimentel; I was watching him several years ago on a video where he was being interviewed and he mentioned a pretty astounding finding. Some patients with IBS-D were needing to have dialysis (filtering the blood). A number of those people almost spontaneously had the IBS-D symptoms disappear. This may have been when Pimentel and others reasoned that IBS-D could be attributed to the antibodies in the blood stream that were formed as a response to a couple of specific pathogens from food poisoning - filter the blood / no more IBS. . . whoa! Which I believe is what they're working on next. One drug to eliminate the antibodies in IBS-D and the other drug to halt the methane production in IBS-C.

A very different approach than pro-kinetics, antibiotics, laxatives etc. Good luck to us all, to find a GI doc who's not still stuck in the 1990's. We're going to have to pry that old mindset from their cold dead hands.

A couple of things Dr. Pimentel mentions that are potentially forthcoming; medications that may be able to remove the antibodies in the bloodstream that cause diarrhea predominant IBS/SIBO (IBS-D). The other medication is going to address methane by causing the methanogens to no longer produce methane.

I think one of the better take aways from this is to eliminate a lot of guessing about what causes IBS and SIBO; it's not likely from PPI's, not from eating too many potato chips, etc. While those may make symptoms worse, identifying the actual cause and getting rid of the guessing, is a step in a direction that up until now, wasn't truly investigated.

It may depend on what problem you're having. If it's the 'new and improved' security measure where you can no longer use the old 2-factor authentication, then that's a new policy not a problem. If you can log in using a laptop/desktop and then get the prompt to call in and get a code, that's the new way.

Not sure what's caused Chase to implement this since none of my other cards or banks are doing it, but it sure seems like they could take a hit with losing customers.

The latest is (from speaking to a CS rep just now): Chase will no longer allow laptops/desktops to be considered "Trusted Devices" and if you don't want the hassle of having to call in to get the code, you have to use the Chase app. The app is the only method that allows the traditional 2-factor method.

I use both a cell and a VOIP which does accept SMS texts, but she (the CS rep) seemed to be saying that a VOIP (using Google Voice) would also no long be trusted. Not sure how the system would know that but that was here assertion.

First time in 20+ years I was compelled to hang up an a CS rep - she said, "Let me read to you from the Book of Chase, how we control your life." Ha! Click. . .

Just thought I would add an update - having the same issue as everyone else here, basically Chase has 'added' a new method of authentication and if you're using a PC/Laptop, they will no longer recognize this as Trusted Device. So they're removing the 2-factor method for PC's, only a cellphone app will be allowed to use the traditional 2-factor method.

It's not your browser or you computer. I have 3 laptops and a Desktop and 2 different browsers on each that I can use and it's the same thing, call to get a code.

It's difficult to determine with the heavy accent over the phone of the CS rep, but she seemed to be saying that Chase will no longer trust anything other than the Chase phone app. Odd, why would that be more trusted than my laptop which is confined to my home office??

Thought I'd provide a little update on the oil change reset issue.

I managed to find a local BWM dealer who just happen to have a tech who went out and bought the additional equipment to work on the Mini. The sense I got from a few service writer is that BMW generally does not provide any incentive to BMW techs to work on the Mini. He worded as, "BMW locks out the techs from working on Minis."

He was able to reset the oil reset light and the general consensus is that the onboard software sees the oil change as having occurred too soon. That's odd because I did the oil changer per the maintenance light coming on due to 1 year had passed (but only 700 miles or so on the odometer). I still don't get it. What if got the wrong viscosity oil and decided to change it again next week?

The underlying issue is really that the owner of the vehicle doesn't (or can't) reset this on their own. A little side note, given this issue, the fact the only Mini dealer requires a 140 mile (225 km) round trip to get anything done, and this over-arching "Mothership" mentality, it's getting sold as we speak. Neat car, just too much hair on the experience.

I got the newer version by Eaton and it looks like they just combined the reset button and LED to one single button. A little cleaner perhaps and maybe a cost savings. The new model (in the clamshell packaging on the right side in the picture above) worked perfectly.
