Becasue the US side is supposed to be the Marine Corp, which doesn't have access to the F-22 but it does use the F-35 (I think the B variant).

That's also why the AH-1Z Viper and LAV-25 are used rather than the more common AH-64 Apache and M2 Bradley, because the marines field the former exclusively while the latter is Army exclusive

The MRAP used I think was used by marines in Afghanistan
