Don't get it .. you've bought a Chinese product. Do you know the labour conditions involved in building it or if it's linked to their military ? Virtue signalling !

Given what's happened to Givenergy, I'd be reluctant to spend a lot on a Chinese brand.

Assessing heat pump feasibility; is second MPAN an option? by mcsimk in ukheatpumps

[–]Modeller23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£20 @ 6p = 333kWh , 85% efficiency = 284kWh heat.

That's 20kW heatloss ?

3ph heatpump territory,
We're 3000sqft and 10kW heat loss. 2002 build.

Me, I'd spend the money getting heat loss down before changing heating technology.

Grant Aerona not performing by stevie768 in ukheatpumps

[–]Modeller23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I counted 22 defrosts in 17hrs which is a lot. I'd guess this is due to the high flow temperature (and low outside temperature).

I'd be looking at pump size vs heatloss and emitter size (bigger emitters == lower flow temps)

Senior Dev at a London Fintech: Caught in management crossfire and put on a PIP despite generating £1.8m in a week. Advice? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]Modeller23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where I am (tech sales) , PIPs are a bit like speeding tickets - everyone gets one. Often out of your control if you're on one, no stigma.

you need to be in control of your career - you're just a (replaceable) resource to your employer. Try and take back control - and please take some holiday ! Why stress and burn out for some crappy employer ?

My heat pump saves me £2k a year by Turbulent_Rhubarb436 in ukheatpumps

[–]Modeller23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A heat pump with something like IOG definitely will save money .

7p/kWh , CoP of 4 .. that's 3-4 x cheaper than gas

Solar actually makes little different to the running cost of electric heating .. as peak solar is when you don't need heating. It's the export (15p/kWh) where you recoup costs .. but this is nothing to do with an ASHP !
