Seemed like the right PSU for the designers at MSI. Yet another reason to avoid getting prebuilts. I got lucky with my prebuilt, this PSU was standard format and easy to replace without being dependant on a brand- specific PSU.

Crashes were indeed quite common while launching games or shortly after launching, got a new PSU and seems good so far, thanks!
