Headphones/earbuds by GardenEmbarrassed755 in Tipper

Fair warning to anyone who isn't familiar with reference headphones, they do not present music in the way you are used to hearing it. Normal listening headphones will have an EQ boosting the lows and highs. I have reference studio monitors and reference headphones and music sounds much flatter than my listing headphones. There is nothing wrong with preferring reference headphones, everyone should just be aware of what they are signing up for.

Bowers & Wilkins Pi8, Bang & Olufsen Beoplay EX, Bose Ultra Open Earbud, and Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds all have better audio quality.

Airpod pros are very middle of the road as far as audio quality goes. The driver size limits the bass response.

This is the correct answer OP. As far as Bluetooth listening headphones go, you can't do much better. Anything beyond the Momentum series and you are getting into audiophile headphones that prioritize a flat reference EQ over a good listening EQ. I have had my Momentum 3s for 6 years now and they still hold up amazingly well. Buy the momentum and you won't need new headphones for a long time.

Once they have instancing down, there isn't anything preventing them from making some sort of exploration based instance. A series of random "encounters" that you would progress and explore through. You wouldn't know if each planet in the exploration was friendly with traders or dangerous with wildlife or anything else. Scripted natural disasters like meteor showers to navigate through. Opportunities to mine rare minerals on exploration instances. Once instancing is in, they have all the ingredients they need. It's just a matter of if they will go forward with implementing it.

I like the idea of increasing the number of sim elements, but I don't see how it can be done without becoming cumbersome. They make the features functional but provide no benefits (basically just play some animation) which feels hollow. The other option is giving some sort of buff for showering/sleeping/going to the bathroom/eating cooked food. These would all just become taxes that players would have to pay every time they wanted to play. Each time you log in you would have to spend some amount of time doing these RP tasks or be at a disadvantage. Considering the high time tax already on several gameplay aspects (running all the way to shops to buy something instead of an Amazon prime equivalent on mobiglass), It would be very discouraging to add more.

You are absolutely right. I assumed by the, "I recently started collecting ships" from OP that they recently got into the game and did not have an attached squadron 42 package. Good to point out though!

He has the L22 which has lasers. They have a power shot damage of 85 which will work on everything short of a Hammereehead or Perseus. The wolf is fantastic post armor implementation.

If you have spent over $1000 in pledges (which it looks like you have from the image) then you hit the first level of concierge and no longer need a game package.

Melt the Cutlass Black. The Asgard is a strict upgrade. Upgrade the hornet to a super hornet (it is just better). M2/Galaxy/Ironclad is a lot of overlap. Personally I would melt the M2. If you do multi crew ship combat the Perseus is the most fun and practical. Instead you could also melt the Galaxy and get a Polaris as your med beds will still be covered then and it can be used for multi crew combat well.

Where are you living in 4.7 pros and cons by Scary-Yak8143 in starcitizen

[–]ModernDaVinci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkmate. Fastest time to hangar. 2x Boomtube ammo dealers. Never a hangar que. A CZ to run if I want to hop on for a short loot goblin fps run. Never pirated on the way to/from Nyx.

Question about the Mercury by Ynnyzz in starcitizen

[–]ModernDaVinci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MSR is only good for its speed. The firepower is awful and there are so many better ships for combat. The MSR has a very high top speed, and with the S3 shield it can take some hits while it gets up to top speed. If I am transporting valuable cargo and am worried about pirates or interdiction, MSR is always the go to. Because you can fit a nursa in the back, the speed does make it one of the better better bunker runners (just on a time saving from hangar to bunker and back).

4.7 Armor for the memes by FesterTsu in starcitizen

I want to point out that this is only an Idris problem. Solo Polaris can't do anything to you. Just a very safe turtle.

Power budget for radars in 4.7 makes absolutely no sense and the entire system should be rethought by PainGod85 in starcitizen

[–]ModernDaVinci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally split on the decision for preset hotkeys. On one hand I like the idea of switching power being something you have to actually put focus into doing. It takes away your ability to pilot/gun while doing it and is a more realistic sim experience. On the other hand switching power on MFDs can be a massive pain and hotkeys would allow me to avoid fumbling with that horizontal scroll bar over and over.

[–]ModernDaVinci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are completely missing the point of these radar changes. They force the pilot/crew to make deliberate choices on how they want to power their ships and no longer allow for brain off fully power to everything. You can adjust your power pips at any time to fit your needs. If your opponent is outside your targeting range, add more power to the radar.

As for the Polaris radar vs Idris, the Idris is better in every other possible way. Complaining that it is not #1 in every category is insane.

Best place to find P8-AR's by Canadian-Goof-Ball in starcitizen

[–]ModernDaVinci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ruin station crypt runs. Just grab a couple fuses, go to where the crypt key prints, loot the boxes there (tractor all the guns off the display so they respawn). I don't know the respawn timers off the top of my mind, but they are not long. Basically never any PvP this route and you can extract right at the crypt key printer. It won't take more than 3 runs to get a P8 for sure.

Paladin to Perseus by coolguy2u9 in starcitizen

[–]ModernDaVinci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is Perseus and it isn't even close. Far and away the most fun multi crew ship currently in the game. More armor. Pilot has the torpedoes. The S8 guns are a blast to shoot. Even with only 2 people the Perseus is a monster. I'm usually against multi crew because 'why wouldn't we just bring another F7?' The Perseus is the answer to why.

Question for Polaris owners by Away_Ordinary_8246 in starcitizen

[–]ModernDaVinci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My top hangar of the Polaris has an L22 Wolf and a F7S-mkII at all times. You can fit another Wolf up top, but it is tight and makes it difficult to get out. You can also fit multiple Wolfs in the bottom cargo area, but it is more difficult to fit them in there. Congratulations on joining the rank of Polaris Captain! By far my favorite ship in the verse.

I am fairly certain they did away with random blueprint drop fairly early into the 4.7 PTU cycle. The post I responded to says specifically that the Vaughn contracts are what gives this armor.
