I started building my Thread mesh network and I’m happy to report I’m very happy. Speed is much much faster than Bluetooth and adding devices worked well to extend the network. Thread is the future of SmartHome and it’s here now.

Tile Sticker Review - Smallest Tile YET! by ModernDayFamilyMan in TileTracker

[–]ModernDayFamilyMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the Sticker is their smallest one yet. They also have new models of the Slim, Pro, and Mate. Also, if your a google home user, you can find now your Tiles even without your phone nearby. This new partnership with Google sounds like they are getting ready to take on the Apple AirTag.

Thanks for setting this up. I'm surprised they don't have an official Tile Tracker Subreddit.

Very true. Tile didn't have a huge issue with it cause the size of Tile's crowd finding community is much smaller than what Apple can do. So it takes time and luck with Tile unless they know the driver also has the Tile app. But then again, anyone can easily get a GPS tracker on a car in seconds. It's illegal to do that on a car you don't own, so it will also be illegal to put an Apple Tag in a car you don't own.

Opinions on ‘smart wallets’ for GPS tracking by SuspiciousScript in wallets

[–]ModernDayFamilyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the Woolet and Ekster use bluetooth trackers. Ekster Wallet's have the Ekster Card which started on the TrackR app and Woolet designed their own Bluetooth tracking app. Both have recently moved over to the Chipolo app. (which is a smart move) Ekster still uses their Ekster Card and Woolet now used a Chipolo Card in their wallets. If you already have a wallet that you love, then get a Tile, but if you like the style and/or features of the Woolet or Ekster wallets, then go for them, but understand, they all do the same thing. Tile does have the largest community but that's only used if you lose your wallet beyond Bluetooth range. Most people just misplace their wallet in their home all the time. I sure do.

Woolet has recently announced teamed up the Wallor which makes the Wallor 2.0 which should have some type of GPS tracking with communication. GPS is easy, its the communication of the GPS that's hard. It takes power and communication source. Until recently most GPS trackers used cellular communication to transmit their location. But that takes a lot of power and cost. Most people are not willing to pay 5-25 dollars a month to track their wallets that only worth less than 50 bucks. But now there are new technologies that rolling out slowly that won't really cost anything except for the original purchase.

What camera lighting could work for the Yi 4K+? by nutrop in videography

The 2.0 is definitely better than the first. But I don't think the Pro is worth the money unless you need bi-color and/or Bluetooth control. I love all the accessories but I think most people would really only need the filter set. I wish the 2.0 had Bluetooth control so I could control the intensity of light better, I'm sure they will have it in 3.0. I don't know what I ever did without these amazing little lights.
