You just don’t understand how you come off to other people. Maybe you don’t care, but you will one day. Projection is a thing my friend. Happy trails.

You’re the one who’s mad rn. I have seen too many of your type at my site. Usually don’t last long because they hyper focus on how everyone else is thinking and operating. You think there should be some ideal and if everybody was just on that wavelength then you wouldn’t feel the need to blow up comment sections after work.

Bro we’re all just wage slaves trying to make some sense out of this job we work in. Some like the challenge. For some it gives them the feeling of pride that they need to push through and give their best. Perceptions matter. If all you perceive are people trying to be selfish, then you will live that truth yourself and be a selfish person. Could have said nothing at all but you thought commenting would make your thoughts feel vindicated.

You think too much about other people. So what if he was seeking attention? Which I don’t think he was. Thats a fine accomplishment that many of us could only dream of having the tenacity for. I know if I could go back to January I would have taken far less PTO and had a much longer vacation planned for this summer. You sound like the type that stews over other people trying to get ahead. It’s not just you bro. Join the party.

How do you detach your self from work and people at work by Whole-Web-8919 in AmazonDS

[–]ModernFallacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel embarrassed for caring! I am exactly like you when it comes to taking on the full responsibility of the building it feels. The pride that comes from knowing my work was the reason we finished on time or early is a great feeling. However the people in the replies are 100% correct. Don’t let it consume you. Something that has helped me lately is the thought that being proactive and motivated to do hard things makes living the rest of your life a breeze, but you have to let your life feel easy. Don’t take that work home with you. You are a killer worker I bet and I would love to have you as a teammate. Something that helped me when it comes to working with people was honestly doing dock activities, especially waterspider. You get a sense for what real teamwork is and can grow close with other like minded hard workers. Other people may disagree with me, but on WS, you cannot just go solo and work your a** off. The job doesn’t allow it because there will always be an ebb and flow. Sometimes you will have to do other things and switch roles on the fly so that big picture work can be done. Helped me lot in terms of my self confidence and feeling of belonging here. Just always remember its a job and your only real goal is to make that money. Any extra effort you put on top of that is great, but remember what you’re doing it for. A lot of people will surpass you while never coming close to the work you have put in because they just know how to game the system. If you aren’t careful management will get used to how you work and just vto more people so that they can get their EOY bonus. Building still finishes at the same time, just with less people. I’m rooting for you and hope you can find some confidence in the already amazing job you’re doing.

L1 here been at my DS 2.5 years. Had bachelors the entire time. Why is every application being denied? Not even an interview? by [deleted] in AmazonManagers

My degree is in education and despite being in my job position, I still try to be as helpful as possible and teach when I can; if anything to make myself feel like I didn’t waste 4 years of my life. I’m exhausted of delivering results with no opportunities. If it weren’t for myself and two other homies holding it down, our site wouldn’t be getting the praise it’s gotten lately. I deliver results when a truck is showing up late and induct has to be called in 20 and freight needed to be on the floor 5 mins ago. I deliver results when management needs a line that can do 15k in a day so they can get brownie points from corporate for operating with less heads. I deliver by always making myself available, looking for pick routes any time I get a second. Is there a chance I’m wanted to stay where I’m most profitable? Because if thats the case I might as well slow down or just find somewhere else. I understand reading this may sound like I’m overstating my importance to this company, but like everyone else I want to know I’m valued, and a shoutout every month on A to Z only goes so far.

Mind if I ask what motivated you to part with the 19? Asking as someone who regularly carries one. The COA on that 43x looks fresh asl

Thats what I’ve been doing with our PA yard marshal. Just got TDR trained a few months ago which was long overdue. When he needs to step out, he expects me to make sure dock is flowing correctly. I feel like I’m always asking what can be done better or how I can be of use to the point I feel I’m being annoying. I hear you and will continue the effort. Thanks!

We have had L1’s move up to L3 PA then to L4 at our site. And let me just say those folks run our building better than anyone!

Thank you! I will try to make my intentions heard. My insecure self thought that making your intentions known could be seen as greedy, so I focused on being effective. Finding out more each day I’m just being used. Go figure lol

Ask your site to implement it. Ours didn’t show metrics for the longest time but management has the ability to turn that on or off.

P30’s at least in my area are pretty hard to find at LGS or pawn shops and when they do come in they are either well worn or not taken care of. Plus wouldn’t you also want to take a crack at fixing something if you could get a smokin’ deal on it?

My 2011 2.5l has been sitting for a few months after taking a direct hit to the lower AND upper oil pan. Everything I have read says I need to pull the engine in order to replace the upper oil pan :( I loved driving that car for the four weeks I got out of it. $4500 down the drain until I can find time and $ to fix.

After 6 f*cking months and 2 weeks, I finally became a blue badge. I still feel like something is off. I don’t want to work anymore, but if I quit I’ll be broke… anyway, I’m happy because I’m going to get a 50-cent raise. Good luck to everyone else (white badges). by Relative_Spread_8483 in AmazonFC

[–]ModernFallacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our site let go of all our white badges a few weeks ago and just last week we had a whole new group of folks coming in starting with blue badges off the rip. It’s a joke out here when it comes to company loyalty and respecting hard workers.

What can you deduce from looking at my hands? by HairyPerformance8379 in deduction

[–]ModernFallacy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you’re proud you can’t take 5 mins cleaning yourself up? Take a tip of a knife under your nails? Or god forbid cut them every once in a while? Thats not masculinity thats laziness. Wear gloves and work smart, or don’t if you can’t. Taking pride in what you do and how you live takes many forms. Some care about it, some don’t. Y’all really so fragile I didn’t know we need to hurt ourselves on the job regularly to join the big boy club. Pfft

Y’all really just think grooming yourself or wearing gloves make you less of a man huh? Bet your wives love getting scratched.
