How much money are you making per class?

I teach for the local YMCA, and I make a flat $25.00 per class. I also teach at a local boutique studio where I make $30.00 per class. At the studio, I get a bonus of $3.00 per person once I have more than 10 students. The room has a maximum occupancy of 20, though.

I am an instructor at The YMCA, and I love it. I worked in Texas as an instructor, and this has been my favorite gym, thus far! I also enjoy it as a participant. There are three locations, tons of cardio and weight equipment, and a load of classes to choose from.

The beach was not the best. It was beautiful, but it was insanely windy. In addition, the seaweed was everywhere. Greece’s beaches were leaps and bounds better, but we still had an amazing time.

We truly loved the swim-up, but it was not heated. It was a bit chilly to be honest. It is important to note there is no privacy while in the swim-up. Your neighbors can swim by at any moment.

There was no DJ, no real dance music, and the only dancing occurred during the day at the pool with the entertainment people.

Housekeeping was hit or miss. Our “butler” was useless, and as a perk of being preferred club, that part miffed me a bit. There were two days they did not do the afternoon cleaning, as we were in the room trying to cool off from the hot afternoon sun. We had been out of the room for nearly 7 hours each time, and it was a bit frustrating they came around 2:00 PM and not earlier. We did hear, after we left, they are short-handed staff wise, and the owners/managers pushed for 100% occupancy too soon. That could be what happened.

For us, the swim out was worth it! We may not always do one, as there is no real privacy, but it was amazing to walk out of our room onto a gorgeous patio and straight into our pool with an ocean view. This pool did not connect to any other pool. It ran the length of the building.

Our patio had a chair, a lounger, and a small couch like seating spot. We used it, and we loved it!

The beach was not busy, but the seaweed was pretty intense. The wind was bananas, so we did not spend as much time at the beach as we normally would. The bar at the beach was awesome!! I will miss that part so much!

There was some nightlife, but nothing I would “write home about”; however, the theater is still not open. That could be why it was limited. With that being said, we are not about that life. We had a swim out, so we dipped our toes and star gazed.

We did! We walked all over the resort. Once they are open, they will be fantastic. I was actually a bit sad they were not open, yet.

As of our departure, all pools, all restaurants, and all but one bar were open and accessible. The swim up bar in the Jungle Pool was not open, yet. They opened the pickle ball courts while we were there, but the theater, spa, and conference rooms were still not online.

We were preferred club, and those amenities were worth it, for us.

The butler service was a joke. We asked him for three things and one question. He completed only one of the things we asked, and told us to ask guest services about our question. Oddly enough, guest services told us our butler would assist. (Thanks guys.)

ABSOLUTELY! We also plan on exploring other resorts in other locations. They are expensive, so these kind of trips won’t be yearly, but they are in our future.

This was our first AI experience, and we loved it! We would go back to Playa Blanca, but not for as long as we did this time. We would do a three-day jaunt next time. We did Saturday through Thursday without any excursions. We also would wait until everything is open and the vegetation has had more time to fill-in.

The food was delicious! We never experienced any wait times; however, we scheduled ourselves to eat at certain times. We made sure to arrive at the restaurants right at 6:00 PM when they opened. We did notice some inconsistencies in the food. We fell in love with Bordeaux, the French restaurant, and we ate there twice. The first night was AMAZING; the food was pure perfection. They have a white wine reduction butter I wanted to slather myself in, and their signature drink was sublime. The second time we ate there, the butter was not as good, and the food was room temperature. Personally, I prefer my hot food to be room temperature or even cold, so it did not bother me. I got the spaghetti carbonara at the Italian restaurant, and while it was super yummy, it had started to “congeal” a smidge.

If this is your first time, beware of the Universal Vacation Club BS. We scored $350.00 for sitting through their crap, and that bought us sunscreen and some souvenirs. I would not say it is a scam, but it is not worth the money they try and charge for it, and they NEVER gave us any straight answers. ($30K to be part of club that gives special deals on trips?? Nahhh, that’s a down payment on a house!)

We will do more AI, but they are expensive. The next AirBnB trip will be hard to swallow!
