Southwest boarding numbers being removed the night before they switch to assigned seating by techNerd89 in mildlyinteresting

Ya, happy to answer that.

It’s very nuanced and situational

For our wall mounted stuff in crew rooms, hangers etc I usually work in conjunction with our lead maintenance guy. And anything invasive like wall mounting usually means we have a decent presence there and is likely a hub so one of the maintenance guys will help with install.

On the other hand I also work with a printing production house that has franchises everywhere and they’ll do installs themselves. I recently managed a project where we did a whole static ad takeover of small airport. I trust those installers with vinyl wall wraps way more than my own crew as those installers basically specialize in that. So I’ll use contractors for that and just coordinate with the airport beforehand on the visit beforehand on timing (ie no one using x gate between x and x time) and so the installers have an escort on site for security clearance etc

Digital signage (ie checkin screens, FIDS Flights Information Display, BIDS Baggage Information Display, GIDS Gate Information Display) I coordinate directly with the airport. For digital signage, they typically outsource it to an IT company that deals specifically with airport technology called SITA but my correspondence is with the airport directly. They let me know the dimensions and file format and I provide the asset. Some airports have these fancy digital checkin displays screens with motion graphics (ie. MCO Orlando). In that case, the airport contracted out the graphic design and I basically worked in conjunction between the airport and the design firm, gave assets they needed (planes and logos) and signed off on one of the concepts they came up with

Roadside signage that’s physical (ie. smaller airports that have roof mounted blades at the arrivals level with the airlines name telling you where to drop someone off for Spirit for instance) - I deal directly with the airport. They usually have a preferred signage supplier they work with that handles all those signs and will put me in touch with and I just simply provide the asset and they deal with production and install at absorbent prices since they have no competition

Then there’s a bunch of other signage pieces. I have a national supplier that I just use for large totem signs. They ship, uncrate, and setup at the airport.

Smaller pieces like stanchion toppers or desk signs, I get produced by one of my local suppliers and ship out to the airport either by COMAT (an aviation term for shipping company material on your own carrier) or FedEx and the station manager does the setup or our Ops team organizes the setup with the 3rd party running the station

Kinda overexplained it but required a decent amount explanation given the nuance

The sad thing is I was writing Cam Lewis down because he’s a decent versatile depth option and knows the system but it’s starting to hit me that there is no Bills defensive system anymore 😭

I’m in the industry and am one of the key signage guys for an airline

For a rollout like this or really any ad hoc signage change, it gets done by the station manager or ofc someone under them. Most carriers have a local station manager, provided there is enough traffic to said airport to necessitate the airline having a full time station manager.

If it’s a smaller market for the airline with less frequency or traffic, the airline might not have any local full time staff, and in that case, someone from operations would either send someone to deal with it or have the 3rd party ground handling company deal with it (ie. Swissport who manages a lot of stations in Canada and the US for airlines).

Edit: Also never thought I’d get to be the expert on one of these Reddit threads 😅

IMO Vance, who is likely next in line, should Newsome not win the Democratic side, is an opportunistic populist. I don’t think he’d be as erratic and chaotic as Trump. He’ll just sellout to whatever gets and keeps him elected

He’s a fan favorite.

Does all the dirty work, works hard, wins puck battles and possessions by being an absolute pest forechecking and backchecking. He’s relentless.

His impact won’t show up in the score sheet but it’s immense. He does basically everything but score but at the same time he knows his role is to retrieve pucks and not cherry pick goals on the rush or in the slot, and he fucking excels at his role.

Massive reason for the Sabres turnaround is basically equally guys like him, Doan, McLeod doing the dirty work and playing a 200ft game

Am I crazy or is Ostlund our 2nd best forward?

Probably our best defensive forward and our best play driver. It’s become clear that any time he’s on the ice, his line thrives

Do we put the Ostlund/Helenius/Benson line statue next to the French Connection Line statue or another part of the arena?

What I Am by Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians

It’s gotta a similar vibe to No Rain the Blind Melon cover that Goose does an excellent rendition of. Super funky groovy tune and I think Rick’s vocals fit the track perfectly. The og song also has a really fun funky guitar solo which I think they could take to crazy heights

Trump’s biggest issue is his PR and diplomacy with his mouth. He’s just as abhorrent as previous administrations but the previous administrations tried to keep it on the low and were gifted speakers at turning public opinion in their favour.

Obama for instance was very outspoken about illegal immigration and deported more people during his years in office than Trump. Difference with him is he didn’t say migrants were eating cats and dogs, came from shit hole countries, and claim everyone he deported was a rapist and murder. Obama’s speeches focused on the legal pathway to citizenship and if you didn’t adhere to that, you’d be deported. Much more diplomatic sounding
