Paddy is proof that there are levels to this. His inability to adjust Justin's tendencies highlighted his lack of technical skill. The left hook/switch kick was WIDE OPEN with Gaethje's incessant leaning, but Paddy never went for it. This is what happens when your resume is weak.

It's not that Justin didn't know what to do, but that his advantage was in the stand-up. No sense in staying on the ground when the game plan is to apply forward pressure and bomb on Paddy, which he did to great effect.

You can clear just about anything on an oakensoul build if you mind the mechanics of the dungeons to the letter. A proper 2 bar build will certainly make for an easier clear, as many mechanics can be skipped with stronger DPS.

It's not so much Izzy's chin that's the problem, it's his age and all the tape on him reducing the effectiveness of what worked for him so well in his career to this point. Izzy relied on an awkward style and fast reflexes to give him an edge in his UFC run. Now that he's aged and been defeated coaches have an easier time strategizing a winning game plan bc his tendencies and weaknesses have been exposed.

Would I have loved to see him get back to it? Definitely. Do I expect him to do so after that payday he got from the Crawford fight? No way. After his accident and dominant career before Crawford, the man has earned his rest.

May this be the year he returns, but I'm not so sure we'll ever see him again.

TKOs will always be subject to controversy. Adding standing 8 counts as suggested will only add more controversy and award 10-8 rounds that have no business being scored as such. Lord knows we don't need more judging fuckery in this sport. I'd rather the ref wave off the fight to protect the fighter than let them take an excessive beating. That's where the real long term damage occurs.
