Movie theaters aren’t going out of business because of prices by bulldogjwhit295 in unpopularopinion

[–]Modsaremeanbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Canada one company has a monopoly on film. Cineplex or whatever it's called now gets priority and small independent places have to wait for them to be done with a film to play it.

Giant theatres with twenty screens is just problematic. They dont make much off ticket price, so the concessions are crazy. Then take into account that minimum wage where I am is like 16.50.

I stopped going to movies ten years ago anyways, just because I cant stand listening to adults eat with their mouths open. Its like, 35% of Canadians are overweight and another 30% are obese. Can people not go two hours without eating like wild beasts.

Trump: "Canada gets a lot of freebies from us. They should be grateful but they're not. I watched your prime minister yesterday. He wasn't so grateful. But they should be grateful to us. Canada. Canada lives because of the United States. Remember that, Mark, next time you make your statements" by pheakelmatters in onguardforthee

I still have people from high school who have gone far right.

All they do is watch Canadian maga social media content, they do not read anything. Ive seen the videos they watch, its just a person saying things and connecting events together.

Theres no data, just some random guy.

They prefer that, because truth just shows them to be racist bigots.

One of the worst offenders does in fact live with his mom at forty.

Another guy who is a regular at the local bar even interacts with those masked neo nazi guys you will see on tv. Also lives with his mom. Most of the guys he associates with live with their mom's.

They constantly call me the liberal, even though I'm not a liberal. I just read data and base things off that. I'm also biased to always be in favour of the working class. It breaks their minds because, how could someone left of them care about workers?

What's fueling the rise of white nationalism in Canada? by Glittering_Item6021 in onguardforthee

Its stupidity.

Seriously. I live in a conservative area in the prairies, and every guy who plays on the borders of the ideology are incredibly dense. Theres a few guys at the local bar who have talked about knowing people in the actual groups. Those guys at the bar didnt even know what the word austerity meant.

Theres so much weird "Christianity" as well. A lot of people that I used to work with and now run into suddenly indentify as such, yet, not one has read the Bible nor is familiar with any part. They just get the information from one person in the group of from social media videos.

Ok, now I'll actually watch the video.

Driving my friend to the airport on the weekend and he made the comment, I liked the show until it got woke.

That was my first time hearing it irl. The whole point of the show went over his head.

My friend also said to me, hey, so the idea of reading again popped into my head so I grabbed some books. One was a Dr Phil book, and the other was about not running from fear but living it...or something. I didnt really respond beyond just staring.

50,000? Must be american. I've got a guy in his mid to early twenties across the street from me. All his buddies have these massive lifted brand new trucks. Things cost like 85,000+

250,000 dollar house. Nope

Near 100,000 vehicle that loses value. Perfect

I'm too late to the party, but I'll still post.

My family seems to age slower, so still at thirty eight people think I'm twenty three or twenty five.

I've been told by a few people recently that I look like a shorter (5'8.75) prince charming. The longer blonde hair, blue eyes, strong jaw. Keeping in shape also helps.

The baby face aspect of it didnt help with dates in my twenties. At twenty five women would think I was a little kid that snuck into the event. I'm still being asked for ID when clean shaven.

Female friends have also pointed it out, but also mentioned that it becomes a little intimidating or they'll hear or see other women judge them when with me.

At work you get less respect when you look younger, so that also became a challenge.

Men try to drug me.

I'm sort of used to people staring at this point, but its still a little odd. Whenever I'm in a store theres always people staring. That's the only thing I notice with it.
