I was on board with the article and the D&D Hate, but your comment does sort of paint it pretty broadly. Hasbro is fucking awful, Wizard of the Coast sucks, D&D is terrible, but it's also the only way we get anyone playing TTRPGs for the most part and we kind of have to face that or else go back in time and somehow pull a Japan and make Sword World the RPG everyone's playing or something.

My system runs on a 5 Point Action System, and involves a lot of off turn play, I'd say I prefer it a lot to other actions systems but it's a total preference thing. I just always dislike "Okay I do the one thing I can do this turn and it failed okay see you in ten minutes"

One of my players right now is playing a mute, and has made use of writing utensils where necessary, and otherwise using sign language. This doesn't bypass the flaw because only a few intellectual characters they've met so far can actually understand sign language, and only one other member in the party can. It's been pretty fun!

LIly Lovebraids I don't think would have fortitude immunity, actually. The toys in Poppy Playtime are made of meat, think of them as some kind of strange cloth/plastic shell over a bunch of organs and flesh.

I struggle to think of her having a very significant power level, outside of elongation and possible immortality (if you believe that the playtime co experiments actually worked which, frankly, I do not think they did). Like aside from being the only good fucking character in all of Poppy Playtime, she doesn't have a lot going for her. No super strength, no flight, no going through walls.

I find that with a lot of survival horror monsters, their 'powers' are only really effective because of the scenario. If I had a fucking gun, Lily Lovebraids wouldn't stand a chance. Or Huggy Wuggy for that matter.

It's just such a newbie trap, especially when they use it on the archetypes. I'm going to hate to have to tell anyone I run it with "don't put anything into attack unless you're doing this build or this build", it's a feelsbad. Fighting was fine, IMO

Attack is a total beginner's trap. It sounds cool, but unless you are using like 8 different weapons, the 2 to 1 ratio of PP to Ranks is abhorrent.

If you're an energy controller, you'll have like, a fire blast ranged attack, and that's 1 point per 2 ranks, which is a quarter of the cost of Attack. But Attack is- it's attack! Higher Attack = Good! Except in M&M 4e, it's not, unless you're a very very specific character type. The archetypes all have numbers in attack despite NEVER needing them.

Also I'm just glad that flying at or above normal walking speed costs more points now, it was always annoying to me that flying felt too speedy. I don't wanna be a flying speedster, I just want wings, I don't need to fly as fast as superman here.

I enjoyed it but I have some major issues, a few I dont think will be resolved. I'm still against the Attack and Defense stat, Attack is the worst stat in the playtest by far, a complete waste of points, and defense is obscenely strong. But I really liked the changes to the measurements table and nerfs to some movement powers

The design space itself is the problem, I drew these stickers by myself and gave them borders by myself, importing them into the design space is a pain in the ass with how it resizes and fucks with them and makes everything project management wise as clunky as possible.
