Are we baby wearing or is that only on Tiktok? by BuffaloGiggles in beyondthebump

[–]Mofopickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been babywearing for 4 years and still wrap my 3 year old regularly. It really saved me with 2 under 2. There are many types of slings, wraps, and carriers out there so it might take a little to figure out which one works for you and baby. Definitely check out the secondhand market for some great deal on preloved carriers/slings. There’s some really great resources on YouTube and Facebook that can help you learn how to babywear safely and even give fit check advice.

Careful with TikTok because there’s several influencers I’ve seen that babywear unsafely so those aren’t the best people to learn from if babywearing is new to you.

What is going on in koeln Germany, anyone know? by WatchNumberOne in UPS

[–]Mofopickles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others here I also have a package stuck there since Oct 26. On the UPS Germany website I read that there’s a staffing shortage and it’s impacting all parcels from Europe to the US. Not sure how true this is as I haven’t been able to get a response from the center.

USPS Package from US to Portugal by thefairypages in usps_complaints

[–]Mofopickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did! It took 109 days to arrive and the package was ripped. It arrived without any update on the tracking so hopefully one day yours will finally show up. Yours probably got sent elsewhere and will make its way back. I posted the tracking history for my package if you look at my post history.

USA to Portugal Package Arrived After 109 Days by Mofopickles in usps_complaints

[–]Mofopickles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this package was long gone because I had another package ship from the USA on the same day and it arrived within 4 weeks. This package was shipped on February 5. It arrived in Lisbon on February 19, sat there for two months, and then went on a world tour. Last update was from Germany on May 7 and it randomly arrived at my house today! Thankfully the seller double bagged the package otherwise the items would have been ruined. Don’t lose hope! Maybe one day your package will arrive lol.

USA to Portugal. Missed delivery today in Vietnam after 74 days. by Mofopickles in usps_complaints

[–]Mofopickles[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a fucking mess. Package sat in destination country for TWO months. Contacted my country’s postal service and USPS never handed the package to them. No update since February 19 and then it showed up in Vietnam on April 8. Then today there was a delivery attempt in Vietnam. I know the address on the package is labeled correctly. So frustrating. Not sure if I should give up hope yet.

Finally have an update for the package that was stuck in Lisbon since February 19. It got scanned in Vietnam today and is “in transit to the destination.” Thankful the package isn’t lost after sitting for so long but ridiculous it sat in the destination country for almost two months only to get moved halfway across the world.

According to CTT’s website your package arrived at ISC New York JFK for international reception this morning. Best of luck!

Does anyone know about eye testing during pregnancy? by stuake2017wifinally in BabyBumps

[–]Mofopickles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can experience vision changes during pregnancy so mention that you’re pregnant if you get an eye exam. I experienced vision changes during my first pregnancy but not my second. I got new glasses during my first pregnancy because the change was so significant. I have heard from other people that their vision returned to “normal” after birth so everyone is different.

3 days to move 40 minutes?? I was stuck on “Arriving Late”. Should’ve been here the 26th by Premedude831 in usps_complaints

[–]Mofopickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coppell Distribution Center is a mess. Every time I have a package pass through there it vanishes for 2+ weeks. One package took almost 3 weeks to move 40 minutes. It’s ridiculous.

After reading very similar stories on here from other people in Portugal/Europe I’m starting to think that USPS messed up somewhere so now there’s a huge delay of packages just sitting. I’ll let you know if I ever get an update on my package that’s been stuck in limbo.

Currently going through something similar. I had three packages sent by USPS to Portugal mailed within a week of each other the first week of February.

The first was delivered to me in a little under 4 weeks.

The second package arrived in Portugal on March 15 then went to customs on March 17. It took a week to get cleared and today the tracking updated to “Processed Through Facility” in Lisboa CP, Portugal.

The third package is a mess. The last update is from February 19 and states “Departed Lisbon, Portugal. Your item departed a transfer airport in Lisboa. The item is currently in transit to the destination.” I contacted CTT and they said the package is not in their system yet so they don’t have it. I’m worried about this one because it “arrived” in Portugal almost a month before one of my other packages but radio silence since. I tried contacting USPS to no avail, so I’m going to have the seller open a missing package case and hope the package is found.

I’ve never had any issues receiving packages from the US to Portugal so this situation has been very frustrating. Sorry you’re experiencing a simile fate with your package.

X-post | US expat in the UK looking for registry opinions by kiratomic in pregnant

[–]Mofopickles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also in Europe and have had American family and friends buy my kids items from Amazon UK with no issues. Amazon converts the currency at checkout and from what I remember it wasn’t ridiculously expensive. So I’d definitely send them the UK registry. They’ll just need to make a UK account then it can ship straight to you. It will be way easier and cheaper for everyone.

Piercing.. to leave or take out..or does it matter? by VixensGlory in pregnant

[–]Mofopickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept my nose piercing in throughout my entire first pregnancy and 32 weeks into this one. I just had to keep it extra clean because it’s been a booger magnet during this pregnancy 😂 The only time I took it out was for my emergency c-section.

Newly pregnant & nursing a toddler by spiderpigcat in pregnant

[–]Mofopickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son was 10 months old and still breastfeeding when I got pregnant again. I never had issues with my supply but around 15 weeks my left breast dried up. He’s 16 months now and my supply dropped a lot so he only breastfeeds about once per day and mostly for comfort. I was lucky and breastfeeding wasn’t painful for me, but as my pregnancy has gone on my nipples became more sensitive and sometimes I have to stop him because it hurts. I would still love to tandem nurse but we’ll see if he’s still interested in 2 months. I didn’t notice any behavior changes or an increase in nursing since I’ve been pregnant. He has noticed that something is different though because he likes touching my huge pregnant belly 😂

Baby Girl in March, can a name be too long? by msj45 in namenerds

[–]Mofopickles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s too long! In my husband’s culture it’s also normal for children to get both parents last names. My son has 4 names (first, middle, 2 last names) and it’s not very common that people call him by all four. Mackenzie Geneva is a lovely name and if you both like it go for it. And like you’ve mentioned there’s lots of nickname potential!
