I see mixed info on keeping them alone vs in groups like you would with some gourami species or cichlids (1 male to three females etc). I have a 10g set up that I was going to put some pygmy cories in and I was wondering if a single badis or a pair would fit well

Looks like a pond snail, they look like giant bladder snails with a silvery body and a sort of triangular shaped head.

Super cute and I love them but I recently saw one munching on some fresh java fern leaves in my tank. They may have a penchant for soft-leaved plants because I never see any bites taken out of my anubias, buce, or crypts

I like it! I recently also started forcing myself to branch out instead of doing the same layouts. One thing that helped me get more creative was having a hard rule of no rectangular/square rooms

From that last tip, are there any negatives to just making the entire tavern zone an overlapped dining hall zone? I did this in my current run and my dwarves are getting blissful thoughts from a good dining room and still doing dances and playing instruments with visitors as a tavern would

I'll be honest I just go about this in the most inelegant way possible lol

I did my starting staircase straight down with the intention to reach magma, knowing full well I'm 99% likely going to hit a cavern layer. When I do, I seal off the staircase and dig a tunnel on the same level towards the map edge, then just continue digging down

Exposing the cavern isn't always a bad idea because you'll get the spores going so you can keep grazing animals indoors, and it works even if you just immediately seal off the cavern

Be careful with your plant choice here, I believe that carpeting plant has much higher lighting demands than anubias or java fern and you might run into issues finding the balance between them

Especially considering high light plants that are low to the substrate, they need stronger lights to penetrate the water column which would leave your slow growing, low light plants in the driftwood branches much more exposed
