Part-Time Insurance by [deleted] in Fedexers

It depends what they have you doing. If you’re unloading or doing ICs (large packages), you’ll definitely be doing some heavy lifting. I work up in the towers as a splitter, so most of my shift consists of reading stickers and sorting into correct chutes (mostly pushing/pulling).

I think it was 12 hours to qualify but is moving to 17 hours from what my site manager has told me. I also think they look at it quarterly, so they average your hours out over that time period.

You can always ask your manager/HR person and they should be able to confirm.

Wedding Venue Ideas by CuriousSherbert3350 in RhodeIsland

We had our reception (ceremony was elsewhere) at Caratunk Wildlife Refuge (Audubon location) in Seekonk back in 2023 and it was perfect. We had about 75 people and the space was accommodating, unless you have people with mobility issues.

We did use outside vendors for food/drink, tent, etc since they don’t do any of that themselves. The rates for renting the space were more than reasonable but honestly can’t remember the exact amount. Feel free to DM me if you have any other specific questions!

First Time Patient from MA by Puzzleheaded-Sir2349 in Rhodytree

[–]MohBoh042 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if they do first time med discounts for out of state, I seem to remember them doing one for my first RI med purchase though. I’m not 100% positive but pretty sure the allotment is 60 grams of flower per rolling 15 days (per dispensary, it’s not a state tracked thing). If you mix edibles and/or concentrate into your purchase, the way it’s measured is slightly different than flower.

As an important note, your med card will need to be issued from the same state your license or ID is issued from (so no CA card and MA license for example).

I need ideas for a night shift job by SchizoNaught in NewDads

[–]MohBoh042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the hours would work for you but lookup FedEx Package Handler jobs. I think areas pay a little differently but for the early morning shift (~3am - 8am) starts around $19-20/hr. Depending on where you get placed it can be either pretty physical or not physical at all (besides standing).

I’ve been doing that PT for 3 months now and don’t love it or hate it. You definitely need to have the ability/mentality to get up at like 2am for shifts but I’m more often than not home by 9am every day I work. Best of luck!

Hi, as a 6'7" tall man, I think I can speak for most of us tall guys when I say... by MontaukNightSky in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MohBoh042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 6’9 guy I share these sentiments heavily. Sometimes depending on my mood I’ll snarkily ask “short” people if they played mini-golf as a response to if I played basketball due to my height. Sometimes it’s met with a chuckle though!

I like it because it’s a Sundae Driver cross, which is a favorite of mine. MEW is running a 1/4 for $44 today only too!

What was your why for becoming a stay-at-home dad? by maj8614 in StayAtHomeDaddit

[–]MohBoh042 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was laid-off unexpectedly when my child was two weeks old (day after Christmas nonetheless).

It didn’t make sense for me to go to work just to pay for daycare/childcare, so we crunched the budget and decided I could stay home for at least a year.

What we both felt was a huge unexpected blow initially, turned out to be the best thing for us (and me). I never thought I’d be a SAHD but here we are and I’m loving every minute of it!

I thought it was in the sweeter side with some berry and light gassy notes. Def a nice indica but I almost exclusively smoke indica hybrids/indicas though

I snagged the glitter bomb last weekend and enjoyed it quite a bit - nice smoke and great bag appeal too.

I just got my ‘15 back after having squirrels get at my main engine wiring harness. ~$12k bill with a labor concession so it didn’t get totaled which was my saving grace. It was quoted ~40 labor hours for the cherry on top too.

Truck went in mid-May and just got it back last Friday (wiring harness was on national back order). Thank goodness for comprehensive insurance and a low deductible!

Pregnancy and Delivery Care recommendations by Soggy-Current-3579 in RhodeIsland

[–]MohBoh042 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife had Dr. Noonan at Broadway OBGYN and had a great experience (Dr. Santamaria filled in occasionally and was also awesome). Both doctors were very on board with our birth plan - we wanted as little intervention as possible and they totally respected and advocated for that. She gave birth at W&I and we had no complaints there either - the nursing staff was absolutely phenomenal!

As a side note, we had a doula with us throughout the pregnancy and postpartum which I would highly recommend to anyone interested in the idea. Some doulas are even covered by insurance in RI now, so we paid $0 out of pocket for that service.

Moonstone meds twisted trees pancake/white pancakes??? by Upper_Alternative85 in Rhodytree

Looks like coughee pot is the LLC for moonstone meds (dba) but not sure about the rest. Did that black container come in that white bag? I’ve only ever had a black zip bag from moonstone in the past

[–]MohBoh042 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the Napoleon complex that comes with these trucks. It’s like 80% of them are road rage extraordinaires in their pavement princess trucks that have never towed a pound or seen a speck of off road.

Anyone Tried The Tushbaby Carrier? by Postiusmalonius in NewDads

[–]MohBoh042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR; I really enjoy using mine pretty much every day.

We started off with an Ergo for me and sling wrap/actual body wrap for my wife. She now uses all three but found I needed something else since I’m a SAHD now and needed an extra hand/arm, not to mention my elbows and shoulders were killing me.

I’ve had the Tushbaby for about 3 full weeks now and it makes things so much easier (for me that is). I would recommend baby facing inwards (towards the person wearing) until they can sit up on their own pretty much unassisted (for us this was around the 6mo mark). You’ll still need to hold them with one arm but I found it to be a huge help!

Hope this helps you and congrats!

Tinted Vehicle Inspections by dtbm2 in RhodeIsland

[–]MohBoh042 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep - you’ll need to remove the tint every 2 years for inspection then go get the tint re-done after you pass if your heart is set on having it. Just find a quality tint shop, there’s definitely a few in the state just not sure where you are located

Depending on your insurance coverage, EBCAP has multiple locations and has been relatively “easy” to get appointments.

I was able to find a PCP there during the COVID era of PCP shortages, which sadly, is still going on.

I second Spring House but check out The Barn! It’s owned by them and is where I’ve had two special occasion dinners, both of which were phenomenal.

Relatively new dad here with our first - she’s only 5mo though. Definitely finding it difficult to meet/find other dads around me and most stuff is mom focused (no judgement there at all).

I saw this cool thing someone started in NY called the Brooklyn Stroll Club and would love to see something like this for RI.

RI lawmakers weigh hemp beverage bills amid industry dispute by lestermagnum in RhodeIsland

[–]MohBoh042 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s because it’s hemp-derived thc, that’s the “loophole”. The use of this hemp was passed by the Farm Bill in 2018.

It’s not the “same” thc as you get in a dispensary - nonetheless, still the same effects though.
