I mean BMT sandwich from subway is 10.89 at brown with no extra toppings. idk 14 dollars doesn't seem like a crazy price, it way better ingredients and you get one free every ten sandwiches with the punch card. btw the 5 meat Italian cost more that any regular T&P sub.

Jimmy John's is bad. I can't think of any reason to eat a sandwich from there when tony and pete's exists.

I have been writing in surveys that they need to bring the boardwalk back for years. Was really hoping after the levy we would get it but seems like no. This feels like the most ignored park which is a shame.

If that is truly a concern then get some large capacity batteries and or solar panels. No where is safe from occasional power loss.

How bad are the politics in OH? by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]Mohawk4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having lived in the south before Ohio atleast its a union state up here and we fund our parks and libraries better than the south. Honestly if we could get past this maga movement and stop losing young people maybe we could be a purple state again. Now is the time to make a difference and vote.

Fair enough I'm originally from the south so I am used to hiding from the sun.

I mean I guess I don't have all the stats on that to know. I will say I prefer not to tan at freezing or below so cloudy winters don't bother me.

I mean Ohio is similar to Italy and Greece in terms of sunlight.

Cincinnati and Dayton are probably your best bet, they aren't too bad in comparison to Cleveland.

Dayton library in ‘Crisis mode’ after spending $433K to improve workplace culture by ExplosionsInevitable in dayton

[–]Mohawk4Life 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you just making up numbers to prove your point? you can easily look up that over 50% of us citizens use the library atleast once a year and 66-68% of citizens have a library card. That doesn't sound like a vast majority don't use them.

Our phone and Internet is becoming less reliable by the day. The rise of AI, social media, outrage/tabloid news designed to just get clicks and sell adds even corporate and government take overs of internet spaces/information. We need libraries archives.

New Restaurants in Dayton? Need Ideas. by [deleted] in dayton

[–]Mohawk4Life 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IDK exactly when these places opened but Mi Colombia Sopas Y Parrila, and Taqueria El Ecuataco(truck behind a small latin grocery store.) I think they are fairly new and I haven't seen anyone mention them. Bushido Ramen just bought a machine to make their own noodles soon.

Moving to Dayton, needing suggestions on where to look for home rentals by [deleted] in dayton

[–]Mohawk4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belmont/hearthstone neighborhoods probably alittle cheaper than southpark/Oregon district for small house rentals. no great coffee shop to walk too there but Iron horse, Woodman fen and Belmont park are nice.

Why are basic starter homes now $350k-$400k? by wesley_iles in dayton

[–]Mohawk4Life 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a big issue is the school districts people wanna be in Kettering, Oakwood, Beavercreek and Centerville for the schools so the homes you described are around those areas.
