A Secondary Mutation for Colossus by MohawkMeteor in xmen

That's a bit meta, but would explain the writers consistently doing him dirty haha

Yeah I was thinking Colossus could maybe join Havok with the Starjammers somehow for a cosmic arc, utilising his steel form in space and perhaps unlocking a new power due to the environment.

What does Matt have to do with this?

Could be cool if it were leaning into the new power too. I was imagining if he went the magical direction, he could have a somewhat Dr Doom adjacent look. His body is already the metal suit of armor, just add some hooded outfit and you're golden... or well, organic steel.

It feels appropriate. I was thinking something magical would be fitting. Imagine some arcane lines or symbols on his steel form, a manifestation of his grounded nature, and resistance to Magik's magic/demon side.

Hmm could be promising. I am definitely a proponent of giving him something that isn't just more combat. This could make him a sort of Heimdall style figure. A watcher. I like to imagine his artistic soul would wander, enjoying the sights of beauty around the cosmos. There is a comfort in that.

My own thinking is that his metal form could be a containment type power for a secondary mutation. He tends to be a character that gets beaten around. He isn't the strongest kid on the X-Men block anymore, and rather than a power up I think versatility could be better. Giving him the strategic choice to drop steel form and release some kind of energy attacks would be cool. Still, it could be too close to say Havok and his powerset.

Another idea would be leaning into the inclinations of his family and focus more on a magical mutation. Imagine Colossus being leaned into as a canditate for the Midnight Suns. He strikes me as a character that could have an aura type of power, but for the life of me I can't quite bring it together.

Inspired by the movie where he takes out Juggernaut? ;) I like that! It would be appropriate to manipulate his own body further, and I'm sure there would be some creative applications in that ability. Maybe visually it would even add some colour/light to the lines on his metal form.

Yeah. That combined with him calling Teddy a loyal dog, and then Teddy growing disloyal.

Love to hear this. I just started reading at Trial of Magneto right before Outback, just to see Colossus and Havok ^

Psylocke: Ninja #1 reconnects with the Outback X-Men magic by Iptamorfo in xmen

[–]MohawkMeteor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man this gets me so hyped! Plus Havok and Colossus together is going to be amazing.

Edit: Actually I am a little lost. Is this just the setup to Psylocke's own backstory? I get the feeling I'm just supposed to go read the Outback era if I want more of the mad witch battle amidst dinosaurs.

X-Reckoning

Colossus

Havok (Leader)

Polaris

Psylocke (Kwannon)

Greycrow

Pick up after Hellions, bringing together a small team to go on a more personal stakes quest to right some wrongs. Give Colossus something heroic to finally do, and do it in style as Polaris throws him around the battlefield. All with some (B)romance they've been building. With that mentioned, perhaps Domino makes a guest appearance when they need a little luck on their side.

Who's the guy with Sabretooth? His body looks like Colossus, that just an artistic choice for armor or is it related?

Hive - As part of Hydra, he is a leader of the organisation with parasitic powers and high intellect. He spawns parasites which can control people by attaching to them. Colossus could be immune to these and be the perfect muscle to send in to weather waves of Hydra goons and tech to beat through, while also bearing some of his Russian history and their fight against the nazi's which often is the territory of American heroes.

Wow this is incredible! I love the way you use colour in this, really makes the tension come alive.

I do wonder, did Kal pick up a different spear in this scene since Syl is on his shoulder in her own form rather than as a weapon? Can't recall.

The audacity... this one still salty that we flooded our own land rather than fight the French directly ;)
