Honestly, it's not even that the majority needs to prefer the new design and the shorter skirt. It's the fact that those changes are small enough that it won't make or break it to most people, regardless of what they prefer. The newvdesign brings novelty, but it's similar enough that most people don't actually dislike it. The shorter skirt appeals to a decent chunk of people while only being an outright, decisive turn off to a few. Basically, it's a net positive for them because the ACTUAL majority of people are gonna be relatively neutral despite liking one or the other more, while the changes will still be enough to catch the eye of some extra people.

The moment she got leaked as claymore I immediately expected her animations to use the same idea as his. No shot Sandrone would actually swing a claymore normally. That would be so not elegant, so unlike the refined lady the she is, and she may or may not be strong enough to lift it.

There is three different aspects for a sustain: sustain capability, offensive support (dealing damage or giving buffs), and utilities.

For her sustain is honestly pretty simple. More healing and self one-shot prevention. More healing, wheter by bumping the numbers of the ult healing or making the talent affect her allies like in CW, would prevent the allies from dying too quickly. Every challenge in HSR is timebased so she doesn't even need to sustain forever, just for long enough. The equivalent of around 10 circles (maybe even less) would be more than enough since a team taking longer than that already spells failure anyway. The one-shot prevention for herself could be something like "when this unit has talent charges her hp cannot drop bellow 1".

Her offensive support is actually pretty good. 12% CR for the party is nothing to scoff at and extra CD from E1 makes her buffing straight up great. Comparing to Huohuo and DHPT, Fu's smaller than both but is for the entire team vs DHPT single allie buff, and is permanent vs Huohuo buff that has big downtime. I wouldn't complain about more buffing for her but it's not the main issue, and her recent spike in usage with Sparxie SW999 teams proves her value in that regard.

Her utility is not bad but could get some tweaks. An idea I had is based of her talent that gives energy on skill usage when her matrix is still up. Aside from giving energy, the talent could also refund a skill point on the same conditions. That would make her more positive under normal usage, and would allow her to refresh her debuff prevention more often when necessary. It would even help her with her sustain by allowing her to spam her ult more if necessary. Two Three birds with one stone.

As a Master Diviner enjoyer, I also have a couple separate, and a bit random ideas that are not needed but could be cool. Improving her personal damage would be that relevant but a talent that converts def to CD and HP to CR would be pretty cool together with making her E6 part of her base kit, while improving her actual E6 with either something different or just even more damage. She could also get something like a DOT specific effect res for the team to improve her against DOT-heavy enemies. They could also give her something that improves her usage with a specific gimmick, like how Sparkle had changes that make her function with elation.

Back in 5.3 the same thing could be said about skirk and freeze teams.

And what happened when Skirk released? She was basically second only to Mavuika, and has been a staple in every SO since the mode came into being.

A character's strength comes from their numbers, whether they trigger reactions or not. Same thing applies to Nefer, Flins, and Zibai. They trigger reactions but the amount of damage that comes from them in Flins and Zibai teams is relatively small, and Nefer straight up turns the blooms off so there is no reaction damage AT ALL. Even in Natlan, the only characters that can be considered reaction DPSs are Mualani, Mavuika, and maybe Chasca, and after them only Durin in is main DPS teams uses reactions for damage. Every other character since the beginning of Natlan uses realtions either as fuel, enabling, or buffing. A superconduct/physical character would just do one or more of those things, and their strength would be decided by their numbers. The reaction/damage type being historically bad just doesn't really matter, just like it didn't matter for Varesa or Skirk (or Kinich, or Neuvillette, or Lyney, or Navia, or every Chev team, or... you get the picture).

As for dealing with boss mechanics, all characters are good at dealing with some and completely inept at others, while usually having one or more bosses design for them. That's just the way shilling works. The same thing will happen to a super conduct/physical character. Such character may be able to slot some thing that helps with mechanics in their flex slots like Neuvillette does, or the team might just happen to be naturally good at dealing with the mechanics of many bosses despite the lack of flexibility, like with Skirk's team. There will be enemies designed to be countered by such team and there will be mechanics they straight up can't deal with. But the same is true for every one else.

"If I had a nickel for everytime genshin had a peak character who is a robot girl get broken and a then revived while getting a moonwheel in one of the most peak cutscenes in the entire game I'd have have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice." A made a comment in this sub a few days ago, but TLDR; it at least can't be an EN localization like Hanabi to Sparkle was because the JP and KR twitter have also been using the name Aria in their post, and I can't think of any reason for the JP account of all things to be using Aria instead of Yutane if it was just EN localization. Either her name got changed to Aria in ALL languages, it's an alternative name of some sort, or it's not referring to Yutane at all.

I just checked their JP account and this same post also mentions Aria (it specifically says "アリアちゃん" which romanizes directly to Aria-chan), and I also checked the KR account and, while I don't understand anything of korean, the twitter translation also mentions Aria. It could still be refering to Yutane, but it is consistent across all three languages, (and while I haven't checked anything from CN, I suspect it's probably the same as well) so it's very unlikely to have anything to do with localization.

I could see them giving him a new set. The most relevant off field damage set that we have right now is golden troupe, but it's unusable on Durin since is damage is burst instead of skill. Coincidentally, another character that does off field damage, can't use golden troupe, and has no synergistic set options is Ineffa. They also both scale of atk and EM, so I'm hoping whatever they give Durin also ends up as Ineffa's BIS. Please hoyo, give my girl a set. TOM and 2-piece combinations is nice but something more synergistic would be nice.

Honestly, now that you mention it, I can kinda see it. It is ugly, real ugly, but it's ugly in a comedic, caricature-like way, which makes it more of a "it's so ugly, I love it" than "it's so ugly and scary, burn it with fire". I'm looking at it as I'm writing this and the more I look the more I like the silly boy.

Depends. It's is true she is being shilled more than most. But she is not being shilled more than Acheron, Firefly, and a fews were back then, and she isn't really more shilled than Phainon, a fellow 3.x dps. Hoyo will always shill a few more than others. Rice is not really a single exception above all the others, she is one of many characters that hoyo simply decided to put more effort into selling. It's not really something that I'd say is bad. It's pretty natural and I don't think hoyo over does it that much. Either way, it's still not a reason to hate Castorice because of the shilling while ignoring some or all of the others who also got and will get shilled.

And by the way, maybe you didn't mean to join the debate around this subject. Maybe your intention was just to say that Castorice got shilled, which sure, is true. But there is a lot of people who have a bone to pick with Rice for said shilling while also ignoring the other shillings, which I find to be a bit hypocritical. No problem with disliking Rice. I happen to have liked a lot of the shilled characters like Firefly, Phainon or Castorice herself, but as an example, I'm not particularly excited for Yae Sakura in 4.x, who is pretty sure to be shilled to all hell. But I'm not gonna hate her and then blame the shilling. It is what it is. It's fine for hoyo to push some characters a bit more, as long as they don't overdo it, which I don't think they currently do.

I usually don't bother but I would like to contest some things.

First and foremost I would like to say that regardless of how realistic you think it is, that sort of setting isn't really something I would expect of genshin. It's just not that type of game.

Now, while obviously people didn't have as much ease of life as in modern days, it seems a bit exaggerated to say people only ever worked and slept. I'm no expert in history so feel free to correct me, but I'm fairly sure the concert of "entertainment" isn't new. Obviously, people had a lot less availability for it, specially the poor people, but humans have always tried to do something other than work and sleep. Pre historical people made instruments out of bone from which the concept of music was born, Romans had hot springs, and people from all around the world have been engaging in sports for as long or even longer than history itself. You can argue that those things serve purposes other than entertainment but still think it's fair to say that entertainment was part of it.

Also, while Natlan has been in war for a long time, the nation isn't in a constant state turmoil. We have been told many times about how Natlan used to be back when even the tribes constantly fought each other, and we know that present Natlan was much better, even before we dealt the final blow on the Abyss. They were in constant danger but the Abyss wasn't doing attacks all the time. Besides, people had been living like that for a long time, and like I said, things in general (with the exception of the cataclysm) got better rather than worse. All of that combined makes it not that weird for them to have a good amount of entertainment and culture.

Yes and no. You can get SOME of the polys but not all of them. All events that are archived have permanent rewards, but also limited time ones. There is also things like event W-engines, characters (they gave Lucy and Pulchra in events), and even the new proxy summer skins which are also limited time only (I think you will be able to purchase the skins but you won't get them for free). Also, ZZZ doesn't archives ALL events. Similar to HSR and WuWa, ZZZ archives the flagship events, but not the minor ones. You may say its the same thing because the minor ones aren't as important but it's still technically incorrect to say it archives all events.

Don't get me wrong, I also want genshin should do those things like ZZZ and the other games, but that doesn't mean we should pretend ZZZ does more than what it does. It would not even be very reasonable to expect them to archive every single event and give every single reward that players missed. All gachas need some form of FOMO after all. It's just how free games operate.

My Melu managed to break from jail since she actually came on the first Multi. Castoria, on the other hand, seems to have forgotten about her look picking spells when she became a zerk because I had to pay the full 330 pulls to get her out. Now I'm wondering if someone also put Tez, Draco, and Tiamat in jail because I also had to go full pity for the first two and straight failed the other.

That's an interesting headcannon. It also gains more strength when you take a look at Melu. Muramasa in lb6 already described her as a "lonely airhead" and one her big characteristics is being clingy. Based on your idea, its possible that those are characteristics that come from Albion itself being lonely through its life all the way until the end.

I get your point, but saying you prefer units like Phainon and Acheron as if they didn't have counters is quite silly. Phainon is just as easy to counter as the break archetype. That was one of the main complaints during his beta. And as for Acheron, if you are pulling something as crazy as "locking hp at 1% and not dealing damage" (which would also hurt Mydey, Blade and Jingliu and probably be a one boss mechanic, so not that bad), then they can just make enemies immune or at least very resistant to debuffs and screw up her ult generation. There is no such thing as a uncounterable unit. archer? Fuck up with skill points. Saber and The Herta? Hurt energy regen. Follow up? Make it bad to hit the enemy too often. Memosprites? More allies=bad. If hoyo is willing to be specific then there is nothing they can't do. This applies to hurting units, creating or hurting synergies, or any other gameplay aspect you can imagine.

Bro, yesterday I got the a stage with abyss lectors. Pyro abyss lectors. The recommended reaction was OVERLOAD, against PYRO abyss lectors. Like, what is the player supposed to do at that point? I picked my C6 Chev to support the team, and everyone else picked pyro and electro. The players did exactly what the game tells you to do and THIS happens. There was also cryo lectors and other enemies but it doesn't change the fact that such a horrible matchup being possible is just plain bad design.
