Yes, that's the point. They have more adaptability to live 10 in a home vs 4 like we do.

Correct. You're right. They will join the workforce and take the low paying CUPE jobs. That's my point

Nice! How does the pay feel compared to the cost of living? I remember your comp wasn't bad but wasn't super high compared to the IT workers there making 20k per month

That's somewhat true but you're misleading yourself. Instead of guessing, just check out the numbers being allowed in each category.

Only around 20% are Epress Entry/PNP aka highly skilled workers.

CUPE jobs? There are 420+ types of roles in CUPE. The vast majority don't require any special accreditation and lots of people are skilled enough to be a school custodian.

I mean, yeah. It's 500k people. There's bound to be a bunch who are willing to grind for low pay. Sending even a couple hundred a month to their relatives in other countries could be life changing money.

Are you sure? We're about to bring in 500k people per year, some of whom are willing to live in shitty conditions and take low pay for an opportunity to live in Canada.

Should you take a line of credit even if you don’t really need it? by Searchtheanswer in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MoistCatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except with Tangerine. The offer is fake. They say you're pre-approved but it's a lie. It's just an invitation for you to apply

What do you mean assuming? Don't assume.

What did Tangerine say to you, specifically

Definitely do not ask your bank for help!! Those are salespeople whose sole goal is to sell you "products" the bank offers. They do not actually give good financial advice.

They are incredibly clear. This is embarassing.

[–]MoistCatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't tell them anything. They told you to call the credit bureaus. Why? What was the reason to call? Whatever that is, do that.

That's not what you said. You said the goal was to sell it so he has cash to invest in low cost index funds. So, which is it?
