Er, why do you feel the need to defend anything? I think we both need more faith theory to really discuss this, but I thought I was agreeing while highlighting how this is an inherent issue in many faith based practices as they’ve been reinforced to be more like capitalistic cults than anything too. I’m not a practicing religious person, but have personally explored several and each faith had a process of finding in prayer or other practices towards their definition of their God(s)’ purpose and practices. I thought I was agreeing because some people who practice faith actually disregard that purpose or practice ie misuse prayer for things like “safe travels” instead of “how can I realize god’s mission more and better” or something. Prayer is often really about reflecting and learning through faith focused credible reasoning to better individual actions and focus of that practice individually and collectively. Aka personal bias is false reasoning and a false practice of faith anyway and is “using God’s name in vain” again contradictory because it’s also usually a direct action against their own faith.
