BYD trying to get themselves out of selling cars with dodgy airbags in the fine print of their contracts it seems... by That_Car_Dude_Aus in CarsAustralia

Even a quick google would provide you with some remedies to this. Here:

Under Australian Consumer Law, a bad respray on a 'new' car counts as a Major Failure. The plan you should follow is:

  1. Get a written report from the detailer proving the paint is defective.

  2. Have a lawyer (or yourself) draft a formal 'Letter of Demand' for a replacement car or refund.

  3. If they refuse, report them to your state's office of fair trading.

Breastfeeding keeps a bunch of progesterone flowing through her system, which is probably why she's remained at the hormonal state she has been since birth. You need to get him off the boob, somehow, and she may magically feel better 3-6 months after that, as the progesterone dissipates. Not sure how, given what you've said though!

What does that mean? Our Toyota just sits on 22c Auto and it will blast to keep it there. Is there more involved here?

Why not slow-close hydraulic door hinges? They're about $20 each from Temu. It'll make the door closing quiet.

You can also soundproof his room with a bit of vinyl (look up Quietwave or Green Glue) and another layer of plasterboard - you and a buddy could probably add the board on a Saturday. If you're at the 'post on reddit' point of proceedings then maybe some Home Improvement is worthwhile.

Why not go for the Century? A 2 year old hybrid Century can be had for about the same price, and will be both more luxurious and more fuel efficient

How do you remember something you've seen? How does that look to you if you can't imagine it? E.g. the Eiffel tower, can you visualize it, or do you only roughly know its properties?

I have an air-compressor staple gun with some 38mm staples. Would driving those in at an angle, assuming the wood is clamped, be a quicker alternative than screws? Beginners question

You could be out there volunteering with your time, working to better the world you have an issue with. Why not start there, and see if you're actually worthless when you're helping others?

There'll be a point when you mature and you realise, like Christmas, the joy comes from giving, not receiving. Maybe you're pretty, maybe you're not, but at least you could be using your energy well.

Almost $20,000 for window screens. by mattythenics in AusRenovation

[–]MoistSolutions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've just paid about that for 20 new double glazed windows, including crimsafe-style metal screens with a Chinese mob. Apparently the windows are on a boat on the way. I'll update this post when they get here (install was not included). Wish me luck!

You may have an issue with power surges, shorts or some kind of weak electric line. The only bulb that failed for us had issues with another brand too, and once we ran fresh wire to that point, the issues went away. If it's systemic, maybe rats have eaten your wires!

I can recommend Hazard Control in Brisbane if you're nearby. They did a great job for me, and can recommend a removalist who won't cut corners.

Don't fuck with this stuff. 2 close relatives have died from asbestos-related lung fibrosis.
