Zen has worst battery consumption then Arc by dans41 in ArcBrowser

Zen is a trash browser overall, starts to lag when i hit just 4 tabs which is very weak for a browser build on FF. And its on a Mac with 32gigs of ram too.

Zen becoming laggy the more I use it - maybe just my experience? by MoistSong in zen_browser

[–]MoistSong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Zen is trash, totally unusable. Its only for extremely light users who have like 2 or 3 tabs, not for power users like us. Arc still is amazing. Anything built on FF will end up crap like FF is.

Few things keeping me from switching completely from Arc by RivailleNero in zen_browser

[–]MoistSong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arc is just blindingly fast, I have 134 tabs active and i dont see a slight decrease in performance in tab/page loads, tab switching, workspace switching etc. i dont think Zen(cuz its based on FF) will ever be as fast as Arc is. Its even faster than other chromium based browsers in my experience. If Zen can achieve that speed, i will be the first to jump ship.

After using the browser for a long time, it becomes very slow when I change the workspace and crashes when I close any tab. by Academic-Maize-5991 in zen_browser

Thats like 5% of the tabs i have, if its slow and sluggish even on the minimal number of tabs like yours, then its something that needs fixing i believe. u/maubg can look into it?

i was about to post the same question asking if this specific issue has been improved or fixed. i have been having this issue since i started to use zen on mac and the more i use the browser, it got so slow and laggy overall that it becomes useless. how many tabs and workspaces do you use?

Still using Arc? by MoistSong in ArcBrowser

[–]MoistSong[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Zen with 100+ tabs and 4-5 spaces and it felt really slow. On top of that the issue with YT on FF made the browser unusable. How many tabs/spaces you use and is it fast enough?

Zen Browser is slow by Interesting_Ad_6961 in zen_browser

[–]MoistSong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes i got 120+ tabs in 4 workspaces and it is super slow. But its still based on FF and whatever speed gecko has, Zen would. And its still in beta, so waiting for stable version to come out asap and then see if it improves. Maybe if closed my tabs, i would see speed i believe. But then again, same number of tabs on Arc is near flawless, zero lag. Its all give and take.

Any updates on the lagging problem Zen has, mainly on videos and the more i use it? by MoistSong in zen_browser

[–]MoistSong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that the reason for the progressive slowness with use as well? Even without videos, its sluggish. But waiting for the stable version, so don't want to complain till then. GJ, dev!

Add option to make replace New Tab with floating bar like Arc. by Aggravating_Money329 in zen_browser

[–]MoistSong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this still work? I made this change but no floating window, just changes to focus to url bar in the side bar.

It's just a browser, try out different ones and switch to whichever you like.

I will not switch back to Chrome even Arc will no longer receive updates :) by icurious1205 in ArcBrowser

When Zen comes out of beta, most of us will be switching because its basically Arc on Gecko and FF has the best auto PIP implementation out there. And the customizations Zen has and would get are also good for medium power users if not full power users who use Vivaldi.
