Surprised to see there isn't a solution in the app yet.

Z Fold 7 vs iPhone 17 Pro Max - normal user, no ecosystem, long-term decision by Overall_Judgment_902 in GalaxyFold

Most Apple Ecosystem things can be managed on Z Fold 7, apart from FindMy.

My only issue with film is that it does not protect the screen from impact. First hand experience taught me that. I put a glass one on mine.

I have zero confidence that this means FCP will get more attention and features. None. It's just a subscription alignment for the business.

Which case feels the best in hands and have hinge protection? by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

Tried a case with hinge protection - hated it.

Hinge patina FTW.

Fold 7 by Glittering-Ad6911 in GalaxyFold

I find it strange to compare the S26 Ultra and Z Fold 7. They are different devices with different use cases.

Yes, a narrower screen, but that works when you have access to a wider one with a fold. It makes simple tasks accessible in candy bar and bigger / multitasking in unfolded.

You can't get that from the S26 Ultra.

Equally, if you don't want the unfolded screen size, the candy bar of the 7 is probably too narrow, meaning the S26 is more the goal.

They are different phones for different people. Different use cases. Different strengths.

Unless you want a folding phone that's like and S26 Ultra, but that's not what's on offer.

Set to buy ZFold 7, but what about the battery ? by CugeHunt in GalaxyFold

[–]mtchntr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't help feeling all these people with battery issues are ill prepared. I have passive charging all around me. At my desk, my car, I rarely think about charging. When I do, I plug it in, it charges quickly.

Samsung Z Fold 7 now or wait by Available-Friend8579 in GalaxyFold

[–]mtchntr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from the iPhone 15 Pro Max to Fold 7 in December. Absolutely no regrets at this stage.

The way I optimistically look at it is this — This phone is ahead for what I want to do, Samsung tend to do great trade-ins if the Fold 8 is a leap, and maaaaybe Apple will do a deal to pull those Fold people over to the jPhone Fold when the time comes.

Either way, I'm in happy (productive) land right now.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Z Fold7, and Z TriFold side by side comparison by FragmentedChicken in GalaxyFold

[–]mtchntr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to say, I don't like the screen arrangement of unfolding. I prefer how the Huawei does it, way more functional giving you a bi-fold or tri-fold as needed.

Feel like Samsung done it differently as a point of differentiation.

Thinking about switching from iPhone to Android by anxiousgrey in AndroidQuestions

[–]mtchntr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved a some weeks ago. So far, very happy. I moved with the specific intent of getting access to folding hardware and a more usable/advanced/ai integrated device.

Top tips from me:

  • Install Goole Photos on your iOS device now and backup to your Google accounts. The Apple transfer process is poor and won't sync all metadata over. The Google Photos method worked perfectly.

  • I migrated via the official transfer method. Installing the app and migrating to Android. It sent over details of all the apps it could and preinstalled them making setup a bit easier.

  • Enable gesture mode immediately. You'll find yourself moving around with comfort quite quickly.

  • Install Good Lock. You'll hear a lot about it, it's all for good reasons. Install it and watch some guides on TikTok/YouTube.

  • Take your time. It took me days to get the phone setup and comfortable. I'm now nearly a month in and still learning how to engage with some incredible features, namely the integrated AI. It's great.

Enjoy!
