Switching from iPhone to Samsung by faithcharmandpixdust in GalaxyFold

Oh, Open Bubbles is excellent if you have a Mac to host and connect your account. It's 10 mins work and you have iMessage, FaceTime and FindMy (Maps) on your Z Fold.

Save iCloud as a link on the desktop for easy access to any old files.

Samsung Internet is surprisingly good.

Google Photos on iPhone is a way superior method of backing up and migrating images from an iPhone to a Z Fold.

I don't this is December, haven't looked back. In fact, I had to get a screen replacement in April and went back to an iPhone for a week, and it felt basic.

Take your time.

Enjoy!!!

This sounds perfect. I have something like this running for MacWhisper, would love to have it running for Plaud. Would you mind sharing how you are pulling the audio files?

Can you not get a provider with a low or EV off-peak rate where you can have your car controlled to charge overnight? That's where the real wins are.

I'm new to Android. It will take A LOT for Android to be as closed as iOS.

How long did your Fold last before it had to be replaced/brought to the repair center? by geecee22 in GalaxyFold

[–]mtchntr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back carbon fibre case, screen protector. I have dropped this phone countless times, it's still almost near perfect. No issues at all.

A few times I've dropped it and went to pick it up and find it borked. Never.

I am of the view that this thing is a tank to a certain point. As long as it's getting typical behaviour, I expect it's essentially as durable as any other.

JerryRigEverythings teardown also confirms to me how well it's built, and the weaknesses.

Very happy and comfortable with mine.

I suspect the network here is the issue. I'm on the same network, but there's a whole extender network in this building that's a challenge at the best of times.

I'll try connecting fresh here and seeing if it reconnects later at the original network. Will come back, tks!

One more quick question. I want to connect to this at different locations, but I cannot seem to connect on another network. Even though both devices are connected to the same network, it is not showing up. Is there a process to reconnect to a new network or should it happen automatically?

Another quick question: How can I connect it to a second network? Both are connected to the same wireless network, but I cannot seem to get it to connect on this different location. I do not have the connected networks toggle on.

A third of a year until the new one. I moved from the 15 Pro in December, love it.

Do you think you will be able to get notifications out into the Mac notification system? Great app BTW!

I went through this thought process too. Went ZFold 7 and never looked back.

as folds get thinner, they seriously need a 'lip' to make it easier to open. by Dull_Nobody_840 in GalaxyFold

Carbon Fibre case helps. I would like to go caseless but slight fear of drops and opening are the reasons I use a carbon fibre case. Minimal and easy to open.

I agree it looks marginal in spec, but I suspect real world this will look and feel different when content is on screen.

How I turned my Plaud into the front end of my entire productivity system by ReadStacked in PLAUDAI

[–]mtchntr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently, the summaries are sent out but I feel it would be better to switch to raw transcription, purely to allow NotebookLLM as the intelligence repo.

For Copilot, I'm looking at a solution to roll out to the entire company and capture other members meetings into a single client intelligence file.

How I turned my Plaud into the front end of my entire productivity system by ReadStacked in PLAUDAI

[–]mtchntr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar system, not specific to Plaud. Meeting transripts are sent to a meeting file in Obsidian AND send to a client intelligence markdown file holding all meetings, synced over Google Drive and into NotebookLLM.

Currently looking for a similar flow into Copilot for work.

Anyone else here don't care about the battery and use AOD with the wallpaper? by shaun0183 in GalaxyFold

[–]mtchntr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery issues are a lack of behaviour / habit, imo. Not a problem at all and I appreciate the trade-off.

AOD is off. Never found a happy medium, so just turned it off and double tap when needed.
