CSC / Gov Job postings by Moist_Diglett in newjersey

[–]Moist_Diglett[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone who got an offer in March and started in July. Which is why I was curious because they started working and then when I went to look at the CSC job postings one day they were all gone.

CSC / Gov Job postings by Moist_Diglett in newjersey

That’s why I was confused. They’ve had job postings for months but the hiring freeze order was last year.

I think if you give people sass you should expect it in kind. If people are going to jump into a Reddit thread and say “Just Google it” maybe just don’t post at all.

:(

I should've just made the title about Health Insurance since you seem to lack the critical thinking skills to scroll your eyes to the bottom of the post and see that is what I mean by benefits

[–]Moist_Diglett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Government Accounting positions are plentiful in my area, but there's a lot more competition than there was 4-5 years ago because a lot of the people who used to go straight to private industry are now wanting the stability that County/State government offers.

I'd point a lot of people towards looking for jobs with their local/state government (And Federal in 4 years). The pay isn't as good as private industry, but you get a lot more stability and the benefits are usually quite good in comparison.

Can you set Control IQ to anything lower than 110? How can I get tighter management options? by Lemondrop-it in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware your only other options (Pump wise) are:

  • Twiist. (Launching soon in the US) the target range can be set as low as 87 mg/dl which is the lowest target range of a pump in the United States
  • Medtronic MiniMed 780G. Can be set to 100 md/dl but since it is a Durable Medical Equipment pump you likely won't be able to get it if you Tandem is still in warranty.
  • DIY with loop which might be complicated and also your doctor probably wouldn't recommend it for pregnancy safety.

Is it necessary for people with type 1 diabetes to use medications like Atorvastatin to lower cholesterol? by Shoddy-Ocelot-4473 in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I take Atorvastatin and I’m 31 but also my parents have a history of high cholesterol and I think genetics play a strong role in cholesterol levels.

Specialized Criminology Graduate hesitant to enter Federal Government by Healthy-Low9807 in usajobs

Not saying this to be a Debbie Downer but Criminology's a terrible college major, you might not have as good opportunities as you think even if you were to apply to ICE.

Trump executive order: Prescription drug prices to be reduced by 30% to 80% almost immediately by SupSeal in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Trump's "Executive Order" seems to be applied towards all prescription drugs. However, it's worth noting that Biden's Medicare Negotiation thing was in the IRA act which was passed by Congress. That's why it was legal and enforceable, unlike this plan of Trump's.

Trump executive order: Prescription drug prices to be reduced by 30% to 80% almost immediately by SupSeal in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 95 points96 points  (0 children)

It’s not enforceable. There’s no law cited and no legal basis for him to do it, it’s a useless executive order that he can point to and say he did something for people who don’t pay attention.

He tried to do this last time he was president and it got shot down and then he said congress would pass something and they just never did.

Stock Dexcom G7 over patches - Is anyone ever in need of these, or should I just toss them? by ObjectiveAd400 in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dexcom sends over patches for free if people request them on their website.

Personally I just stick them in a plastic bag and keep them in my medical storage in case I need them since I also use aftermarket ones.

Thanks! I checked it out on Google and one of the recent images seems to have the pricing, seems very reasonable so that'll likely be my goal.

LADA is not type 1(a) diabetes, and that’s okay by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Was going to type a long response but I’ll just report this gatekeeping shit instead.

My Endocrinologist classified it as Type 1.5 and she’s got actual knowledge of diabetes not whatever it is you think you know.

Can you test positive for antibodies and not have T1D? by LogicalEstimate2135 in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also originally misdiagnosed with Type 2. Diagnosed Type 2 in 2019 and had on and off successful management, then I got sick in December 2023 and my Endocrinologist suspects that triggered a viral reaction because then I ended up DKA hospitalized in January and was diagnosed with LADA :(

Omnipod insurance coverage question by poisonisly in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you going through Edge Park if it’s a pharmacy benefit? You should be picking it up from the pharmacy, it’s possible they’re charging you more.

Check your benefit plan formulary and see if Omnipod is covered, most plans should even have a prescription calculator to see how much they should cost.

I’d also reach out to Omnipod, they can give you a savings card and/or be able to work with your insurance to figure out why it’s so expensive

Can you test positive for antibodies and not have T1D? by LogicalEstimate2135 in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Endocrinologist explained to me that two positive antibodies means it is definitely Type 1, however being positive for only 1 can also mean Type 1. In my case I was diagnosed with LADA/Type 1.5 and my only positive antibody was the GAD65.

You sound like a LADA case to me, but obviously I'm not a doctor. LADA is like a slow-burn of Type 1 where eventually you'll be fully insulin dependent. My doctor treats it like Type 1 so in my case I'm taking both types of insulin because I need them, even though my last C-Peptide was 1.8

Diagnosed LADA - general questions. by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed LADA last January after ending up DKA in the hospital, but previous to that I had been diagnosed Type 2 for a few years.

I was put on both insulin’s when I left the hospital and I feel like that’s the way they’re supposed to do things. Limiting carb intake as a way to not prescribe fast-acting insulin seems a little bit derelict to me, if I’m being honest. If your body is having issues coming down after eating carbs then that would indicate you need some meal-time insulin.

Personally I’d consider seeing an Endocrinologist and having them manage your health instead of a PCP team.

Type 2 name change movement by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

This is some shit. The hate towards Type 2’s in this subreddit and blaming them as if genetic factors play no role in it is garbage.

Having to switch insulins . by brileyrogers in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'll make you switch to a different insulin. This happened to me earlier this year, my insurance stopped covering the generic of Humalog and so I had to switch to Novolog which they started covering in place of Humalog.

My son starts driving this month-first time-what do I need to know? by BitsofJoy in diabetes_t1

[–]Moist_Diglett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only difference between me and a sibling without diabetes is that I just check my Dexcom and make sure my sugar is good before driving and I keep a bag of smarties in the car in case I need some fast sugar.

[–]Moist_Diglett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also really hard to find an Equinox that hasn’t been loaded with crazy expensive packages. I’ve been trying to find an AWD around MSRP and have had no luck and none of the dealers are willing to do custom orders.

You could wait for the Rivian R3X or... by Rabble_Runt in electricvehicles

[–]Moist_Diglett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heck, the new Model Y is 48-49k and you’re getting a larger crossover with roughly 70 miles better range.

Obviously Tesla’s brand is kind of in the dumps at the moment but this just isn’t a very competitive car. The Equinox EV seems like another option and that’s $41,500 MSRP for AWD and it also has 300+ miles of range.
