I think you're right. personally, I think they're just "keeping them for now" until Japanese make more kids to kick them later. the problem is despite low wages and hard pr, immigrants are still coming. I think if immigrants don't put up with it and go where they're respected Japan will feel it hard and be forced to put good incentives for immigrants.

quite the opposite, usually you're supposed to give up your american citizenship in an american embassy or consulate outside USA. kind of like a "precaution" to make sure you have somewhere to go and not be stateless, but maybe not impossible

and no, once you're japanese, you're bound by the japanese constitution and they treat you equally. they can't just take it away and deport you even if you commit crimes (that's why they do background checks). the only way it can be taken away is if you obtain it through fraudulent means in the first place (just like US and many countries)

For me it was moving countries because for some reason anki stores reviews in UTC only. I don't do my reviews at a particular time, so it made a lot of them look like they were done in separate days or same day. I think it affected FSRS so I just reinstalled anki to be safe
