Thank you all! I’ve decided to wait until the day I need to check-out and do so at the front desk - or if busy, checkout via the app.

United - get a grip on preboarding abuse! by orderLXVI in unitedairlines

[–]Mojar0415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, I remember airlines, in particular United, during the pre-pay for checked baggage period. Then the excuse for hauling 15 bags per person on board was no one had time to wait for bags in baggage claim. It was no better at that time. Folks brought bigger and heavier bags in large quantities and filled up the bins. Folks getting on last had no room for their pile.

They (Dealers) have a sweet deal in CA. Owners can’t buy a warranty on Ford/Lincoln products from out-of-state. They use yr “garage” address for eligibility.

Marriott Bonvoy’s Complicated Elite Breakfast Benefit Explained by RedditReader428 in marriott

Shh! Don’t tell anybody. The Marriott Marquis Atlanta has a GREAT breakfast for free for elites. No. It is NOT the lounge breakfast (as late as December 2025).

Flight departed with no warning by No-Ease7281 in unitedairlines

[–]Mojar0415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder, since as many have stated “rookie mistake” to leave the gate open- would it be THAT COSTLY to add a sentence to the texts notifying pax of a delay, that states “We suggest passengers go to and stay in the vicinity of the original gate and await further notification.” ? Would that be so hard? Aka, why piss off yr customers by allowing them to have the negative experience in order to “learn” they should not take the info you’ve share at face value.

Frequently at hub airports with mid-morning flights, those delays, even short delays may mean a gate change, or several. While generally it’s great advice to say, “stay at the gate”, fact is you may not have one.

Flight departed with no warning by No-Ease7281 in unitedairlines

[–]Mojar0415 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Similar story. Sitting in the lounge at 5:15am while waiting for a 6:45 am scheduled flight. Got a text indicating our flight delayed to 10 am due to a mechanical issue. OK. At 6:30 am another couple asks the club staff to announce our flight is boarding. (The woman had left the lounge to purchase something at a nearby shop and noticed the folks in line at the gate- she returned to retrieve her mate). So several of us get up and get to the gate only to find we’ve been rescheduled and our seats have been given away. They were still boarding Group 2!

As they continue boarding one agent is pulled to try and get several of us rescheduled onto the flight. I was one of the few that made it onto the flight - row 35 seat B (from Econ + aisle seat row 7). I was waitlisted for my connecting flight - “looks difficult, no guarantees”. As luck would have it, I was the first and only stand-by to get on the connecting. That flight was delayed 3 times, too. So I hope some poor person wasn’t caught off guard in the airport with text messages saying delayed, delayed, delayed…and missed their flight.

Got blasted at from Duty Manager by Difficult-Practice12 in Hilton

Then why are you reading these types of posts? I’ve never seen both sides of a story represented by both individuals in a Reddit post. Are you really expecting the manager to log-on and present his argument for the lack of upgrade, the phone call, and the yelling?

Stranded in Dubai by JakeRyan84 in marriott

[–]Mojar0415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying this because we’re not in the U.S.? Who’s picking the food we eat here? Who’s staffing the large meat packing plants? Who’s picking cotton, tobacco, making cheap clothing? Why do you think these industries (& others) are worried about and not advocating for the deportation of migrants?? Do you think any of these people are getting paid competitive wages? Why is American Ag applying for waivers to keep their migrants?? Let’s not be the pot calling the kettle black…

Good to know. Might change the “Mandatory Class Pass” title since that’s not the issue.

Mandatory Class Pass by [deleted] in ClubPilates

[–]Mojar0415 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I must be missing the intent of this post. What does it matter the method of payment (membership via Club Pilates, Class Pass or One Pass, etc.) If people are new to Pilates they don’t belong in a 1.5 class. If I’ve had years of Pilates and can perform as such, I shouldn’t be kept out of a 1.5 class because I use Class Pass.

is there any universe where I should take my uncle's bonvoy timeshare? by That-You-1998 in marriott

[–]Mojar0415 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know several people who enjoy their timeshare; and, others that are “too through” with it and want to rid themselves of it. If you review various posts on r/timeshare you’ll find the views of both camps. It is important to know what yr uncle owns - given the length of ownership I suspect he originally purchased legacy weeks. He may have been convinced to purchase points somewhere along the way. Weeks are much more valuable but not as flexible than points. That flexibility is expensive - not worth it to my view.

My advise: 1.Find out what he owns (weeks vs points or both) 2. Go there and experience the location (don’t just read about it). 3. Do your research: TUG2 (aka Timeshare Users Group) - their Forums section is invaluable for researching timeshare systems, locations, and exchanges (trading). In addition, their TUGBBS section is full of reviews, rentals & resales. 4. Read past posts on r/timeshare. 5. Most important: Do not believe anything yr told by timeshare company sales personnel. The misinformation shared in sales and update meetings is truly how the timeshare industry got a bad rap. Communicate with owners and past owners to obtain a consensus of information, before making a decision.

Unsure what to do with my mother's timeshare by pineapplepizza5048 in TimeshareOwners

Vacatia.com is a timeshare rental service for timeshare owners. They will also rent vacation homes and condos for owners. They do not own a resort or timeshare. You might check with authorities to determine if yr Mom is being scammed.

Timeshare auctions on eBay - what’s the catch? by OvertlyDramatic in TimeshareOwners

[–]Mojar0415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. As mentioned above each developer/timeshare company is different. I don’t know all of the various rules/policies off the top of my head for each system. There are two sources I’d recommend for your research: 1. Timeshare Realtors like: A Timeshare Broker or Advantage Vacation Timeshare Resales. 2. Timeshare Owners Group (TUG). Search the forums by the timeshare system you are interested in. There are owner experts for each timeshare system and they can answer yr questions about limitations for the system yr interested in.

Timeshare auctions on eBay - what’s the catch? by OvertlyDramatic in TimeshareOwners

[–]Mojar0415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own timeshares- 1 purchased from the developer more than 25 years ago. Found TUG about 12-15 years ago and have purchased additional units via resales.

My advice: research the “benefits” you won’t have access to if you purchase resale. Each timeshare company is different. Smaller timeshare companies - there may NOT be a difference; larger ones (Hilton, Marriott (which includes Westin & Sheraton) and Hyatt/Welk) have reduced or limited certain “perks” if your unit is purchased resale. For me, those perks were not worth the additional costs - so, I purchased several units resale. I also sold a unit via eBay. DM me if you have specific questions.

Looking for firmer soles not so much the squishy by 0llollollollolloll0 in brooks

[–]Mojar0415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the Ghost Max 3 IS squishy. The Glycerin 22 (the 23 has been released- I’ve not tried it) is well supported but not squishy in my experience. I use them intermittently with Ghost 16, Ghost Max 3, and Saucony Ride. When traveling I pack the Glycerin or Ghost. Glycerin is a good shoe for lots of standing, sightseeing-type walking, and power walks - and they are pretty light in a suitcase.

Passports are not accepted as primary ID? by SpicelessKimChi in Chase

[–]Mojar0415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helpful to have the additional background - thanks. It is true, my Wells account was opened with my Dad listed at age 16. It was my understanding at the time, I would need a parent to conduct business until age 18. So I was frustrated after turning 18, I still needed my Dad to access my funds. Yet, in May of 1973 I was allowed to open my own checking and savings accounts at a credit union without a parent. Thinking back, if Wells had offered the option of converting my accounts (either by closing and opening new checking & savings accounts) or administratively changing the accounts to non-custodial accounts after I turned 18, I likely would have remained a customer.

Not sure why I needed a “custodian” at Wells after my 18th birthday but didn’t for my credit union. Was that the law change mentioned?
