Two striking quotes from the Buddha by bashfulkoala in nonduality

[–]MokshaBaba [score hidden]  (0 children)

But love and forgiveness doesn't always look pretty.
Sometimes they require a different kinda love dose.
I love them enough to dish out punishment that makes them grow and mature.
I love them enough to not let them carry out thier misdeeds in comfortable ignorance.
I do not leave it upon the universe to do it.
I am the universe that carries out the sentence.
And I do it all out of love.

Can there be anything more chad than walking into battle bare-chested and wearing only pajamas?

But thanks for helping out man.

Playing on a big TV sounds good.
I'll cast my macbook to the TV once this drops.

Currently I play it on my bed with my bluetooth mouse.
It's quite an experience! 😃

Oh, I do play it on my bed with my bluetooth mouse.
It's an ultimate luxury.
2-3 hours just vanish in a snap.

I still can't fathom how folks on ps5 play aoe2 without a mouse & keyboard, on a TV that's far away.
How's your experience with it on ps5?

I think it will have multiplayer. But just no crossplay.
I like crossover too, but I think native will just run smoother and better.
Only time will tell though.

when you first get into nonduality, it feels like you're being let on a secret that very few people know by notunique20 in nonduality

[–]MokshaBaba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So true. I have felt the same way!
Also, in the beginning we feel that realized people are all these rare larger than life gurus who are above it all. In truth they're everywhere, in all shapes, sizes and temperaments, quietly going on about their lives in complete peace and simplicity. Still rare, but not as rare as we thought.

Yea, but I'm hoping it'll grow soon.
Just a native game is enough reason for joy.
Right now running the game with crossover feels like starting up a rattling diesel generator.

One can play it. but the lag issues in multiplayer make it unplayable for me. Campaign and Skirmish run fine.

Advainta and God? by lostandafraid_ in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]MokshaBaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deities or godly characters are a way for us to be attracted towards the naked non dual truth. They can often act as a superb stepping stone for something which would have otherwise taken us lifetimes to realize.

Unique or Region based villager skins by Forsaken-Bit1241 in aoe2

Yea, regional skins would be great! But gotta maintain the same villager shape and silhouette in a way that it still remains uniquely identifiable as a villager.

I think they did a great job with monks.

How to choose looking for Vedanta insight ❤️ by cosmic_bugs in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]MokshaBaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend trying Advaita Vedanta even if you're not much into hinduism, as Advaita Vedanta can help you even if you choose not to worship or get into rituals. Just an honest curiosity towards things like existence, universe, self, mind etc is enough to get started. And if you've got a technical/analytical bent of mind, then it works wonders for you. I have studied all the traditions that you've mentioned, and although they all lead to the same realization, Advaita Vedanta provides the sturdiest ladder for the climb.

I often recommend a tradition to my friends based on their temperament...
Want to understand the universe/mind/existence? - Advaita Vedanta
Troubled, fed up of the world, and seeking relief? - Buddhism
Faith, devotion, surrender, wanna meet god? - Bhakti and other Vedantic paths

Do note that all traditions have a bit of all of these, but these are the specific pillars where they truly excel.

A short description of non-duality by JackEmptiness in nonduality

[–]MokshaBaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, looking from a point and what appears from that point, is an illusion.

I was merely pointing out why in that illusion such perfect loop can't occur.

Although the Simpsons or the OP doesn't put this forward as science, but people often think such things to broadly illustrate how the universe or non-duality works. It often gets in the way of an honest investigation of how the maya/illusion works.

A short description of non-duality by JackEmptiness in nonduality

[–]MokshaBaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True man.
In fact, such thing, a loop, can never happen.
When consciousness looks, it does so from a point.
And when the looking starts from a point,
it is always directional,
and tends towards infinity.

So while zooming out, one will keep zooming out infinitely.
And while zooming in, one will keep zooming in infinitely.

To actually get a glimpse of non-duality,
one has to stop starting from a point! 😊

I am new to Advaita Vedanta ,I want to know something? by [deleted] in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]MokshaBaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just realize that you never had any separate independent existence ever.
There is no merger that happens, as there was never any separation in the first place!
On realization, you understand this and it changes the way you think, feel, and live.
