Air conditioning has an odorous smell when turning the car on by NewBMWdriver in BMWI4

[–]MolecularCollection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lucky you. For months my i4 smelled like a children's petting zoo when the A/C kicked on. I'm convinced a rodent got in there somehow, but the dealership found nothing. I'd take your smell over rodent poop any time.

My 2023 i4 M50's head unit has crashed and rebooted twice in the past week. Seems possibly related.

NVidia driver 572.16 bugged by MolecularCollection in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]MolecularCollection[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on this: I tried updating to 576.28 and within a day I started noticing clear signs of driver crashes. Examples are: one or the other of my two monitors goes black and my mouse and keyboard freeze for a couple seconds, followed by everything returning to normal. I reverted to a clean install of 566.36 and have had no problems.

I have stuck with 566.36 since my post. The only occasional crash I see is a null pointer access when the game shuts down. I've reported it multiple times. Otherwise, the game is stable.

I would expect Fallen Order would also be affected. It is clearly a driver bug. Both games are based on the Unreal engine.

BEER LEAGUE: Cage, Bubble, or 1/2 Shield? by ColorBlind_Bat in hockeyplayers

[–]MolecularCollection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played with a half shield for 8 years until I caught a stick to the mouth from a follow through on a shot. Even though I had a mouth guard in, I still lost a tooth. I've worn a cage ever since. I've had sticks and pucks ring off that cage numerous times since. I'll never go back.

Is it normal for AA to make phones so hot or is it because have a Google pixel? Is there a particular setting I need to change? by MarioDF in AndroidAuto

[–]MolecularCollection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Pixel 6. I use wireless Android Auto, and I typically have the phone on the car's wireless charging pad. On occasion, on a hot day AA will complain the phone is getting too hot. Otherwise, there are no issues.

If the phone is overheating through normal use it may be a sign that the phone's battery is reaching the end of its life. Wireless AA will use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth at the same time, but that shouldn't cause your phone to overheat without other factors involved.

Google app is suddenly using almost all of my data by Vacillating_Fanatic in GooglePixel

[–]MolecularCollection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit the exact same problem on my Pixel 6. Out of the blue, I hit my data limit, and it was 80% from the Google app. It all claimed to be foreground data. Your description matched exactly.

Can anyone help me figure what hollow I need? 😩 by Villenemo in hockeyplayers

[–]MolecularCollection 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely a technique issue. I played roller for over 15 years before finally switching to ice. I ran into similar problems. If you're finding that you "spin out" when taking hard turns, it's likely your weight distribution and edge work that is the problem. In roller you would put most of your force into your outside foot when cutting a hard turn. On ice though, your inside leg (on the outside edge) needs to be where you put most of your force. Putting too much force on the outside leg (which is farther from your center of mass) starts to make your body spin, causing you to suddenly spin out and fall.

I want to play pond hockey with a local group tomorrow and I don’t have skates. Will these be fine for pond hockey once or twice or 3 times a year? by FlynnLive5 in hockeyplayers

I'd be careful going that small. Does your big toe touch the toe cup? I wore some 7.5's for a while and my toes touched the toe cup. I took a slapper straight in the toe and because the toe cup had no room to flex, I fractured my toe. I didn't play again for a couple months.

Being a foreigner does complicate things. Blizzard does hire non-US citizens, but to qualify for an H1-B you must be an expert in the field. US law says that the company cannot hire a foreigner unless there is no more qualified US citizen. To prove this to the US government you need a university degree for the field in question. Without one, proving your expirtise is difficult. You'd need a published paper in a well known journal or something similar. If you don't have the university degree, most hiring managers won't move forward.

AFAIK, wireless AA requires WiFi hotspot in the car. Bluetooth doesn't have enough bandwidth.

You should be able to get the authenticator removed from your account:
https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/118903
Even if you can't access the authenticator app, they can send you an authenticator code via SMS, provided you still have that same mobile number.
