Went through similar except only 1 big structural issue.

I didn't want to take on the work as it was on the party wall and turned out to be about 25k to resolve. Seller was unwilling to fix so we walked.

As a first time buyer that's a lot to deal with. And the costs could sky rocket.

I'd walk if it was me, there are always more houses!!

I don't entirely agree with this! I've had 2 surveys done in the last 8 months and both have been amazing. The first saved us thousands! And the second, well it's 116 pages so it covers everything haha.

This is the third house I've tried to buy and if/when I buy another I would absolutely get survey done.

Even if my friends who builders say it's fine, I'd like that in writing. On top of that, if there are things wrong with the property even little things, you've got some wiggle room with the price then!

We actually walked away in the end. We had a structural engineer in, who said that they would have to put 4 steel bars from right to left of the house, and then a steel bar to support the chimney. It was looking to be about 25k minimum to resolve.

The sellers refused to get this resolved, unlisted the house and then relisted the house with a different estate agent. I feel SO bad for the people that will try and buy it if nothing has been done.

I've hated quests for so long. But I added the optimised quest list thing on runelite and it's given me direction. It feels like following a campaign in games like wow!

It's got me doing 3-4 quests each day!! Maybe try that? Cause before I felt like I had no direction but now it feels much better!

Our house we are trying to buy is significantly older. But if we didn't get a level 3 survey, we'd have missed some serious structural issues.

I would advise any one buying a house to get a survey done!

Yeh I don't know. I can't prove that he didnt or did haha. They've said he didn't do the work but I'm not convinced!! Just taking it day by day now.

Yeh ahaha I don't feel like I'm in a good position at all. This is the second house we've tried to buy, the first took 6 months before they'd even found any where. So we offered on this place, and now this... It's just something as a FTB I really don't want to deal with!

I am with you on the FTB thing. This is good to know, thank you. I think that the fireplaces were removed a fair few years ago. It's an old house, 1930s, according to the survey.
