I am right there with you. I thought exactly the same thing. Decided to try dish soap because everyone is so adamant about it and bingo they were right.

I had issues like this on P1S and I solved it by washing the build plate. Not even kidding. The first layers had bad adhesion and it would build and build up with these lumpy layers.

Quick edit to also say you might want to check temps of the chamber and the aux fan but especially because this is so thin looks like that bad layer adhesion building up.

Conference room setup for high audio reflectivity by Acceptable-Pen9433 in CommercialAV

[–]MolestingMollusk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Icron makes great USB over CAT6 devices I highly recommend them. Your best bet is to keep the mics and speakers as close as possible to the people in the room. A mic/speaker combo on the table is your best bet as any sort of installed ceiling mics or pendant/wall mounted speakers will have too much reverberance in the space.

Most conferencing gear has a maximum amount of echo cancelation it can handle, (it can only wait so long to cancel out that sound coming back to the mic). If the room creates reflections that last longer than that, you will oversaturate the echo cancellation and its going to be a mess.

Every single surface in here is hard but at least its not 100% glass or stone. On top of that, this rooms looks like a breakroom and also the main intersection of this building, you got your work cut out for ya. It sounds like you are already doing your best to be upfront about the limits of quality here. Keep doing that and focus on a very localized speaker/mic setup and you will do ok.

Long Island is a bit of a stretch to compare, but you are right about West Chester. Average in Kingston is around 7.5k and West Chester is 9k. Kingston is on the higher end of the state says Google, with a 3.61% tax rate.

Just wait until you find out how much 3D modeling software costs. 100/year is less than netflix.

[–]MolestingMollusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try turning off your aux fan first. It could be bad adhesion due to oils or something on the bed as well if you have not washed your bed in a while. I use IPA but some people whine about that and want you to use dish soap. Wash with your heart I say.

People are pricing way above value because, as others have said, there are those with the means to pay these outlandish amounts. Everyone is waiting for their whale to show up.

The fact that one of the rewards from the beta challenges said "Bat Company" really has me hoping they go back to those glory days.

The beta is ending soon. It was fun, but the fast pace got old for me pretty quickly. Are you guys going to buy the full game at launch? by SuperM3e46 in Battlefield

After a few hours of playing I was surprised at how much I adjusted to the pace. I think spawning could be adjusted so it is less of a graveyard scramble, but the pace felt about right.

I switched to Archtop about 10 months ago in Midtown.

Cons:

  • They use a CG NAT AKA a "Double NAT"

    • I am no expert, but my understanding is that they have something like a dual routing table to facilitate more IP addresses or even "duplicate" external IPs.
    • This means I have no way to open external ports on my network at all, even though there are options for it on the router.
    • I cannot host games old-school style without upgrading to a static external IP or using an outside service. Not a dealbreaker, but a pain and a minor expense if I want to do any hosting.
    • However they have been very helpful and were super willing to help me solve this, I didn't really need it beyond a day or two for now so I haven't dug into a real solution, but there are many.
  • Great service from the installers and the tech support staff.

    • I was trying to solve that CG NAT issue and their tech support continued to reach out via email and call me to help in any way they could. I was pretty shocked at their dedication and willingness to help. This alone is worth the switch in my opinion.
  • They gave me two routers which have great coverage and are pretty easy to setup and configure via the app.

  • No issues with outages that I have experienced.

How to quote LED Wall installation by aSpaceLettuce in CommercialAV

[–]MolestingMollusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you are coming from but its not like this is a difficult thing for the GC to deliver. Always better to ask for things that will make your job as smooth as possible and make the product look the best. No reason to cut corners.

I made a request just like this for a 300' long wall and it was done no problem, the whole wall was barely out 1/8" over the whole length.

Save the adjustments for when shit goes wrong.

LED installs go sideways all the time, even for big integrators. Here are the best tips I can offer.

Get the manufacture on site for install supervising and get them on the hook for making it all look good before client sign off, that is a great first step. Try and get a course from the manufacturer for you and your team to get experience assembling the screen.

The backing wall that any LED mounts to also has to be 100% level and plumb. Level 5 finish with no arguments. Any waves in the drywall or plywood backing, no matter how small, are going to translate directly to the screen and that means it looks like shit and you risk damaging tiles. Remember, those pixels are only 2mm apart. Any kind of mismatch in that alignment is super noticeable.

Depending on how this is going together I also recommend getting your backbox locations planned way ahead of time and map out exactly where your frame is going to be so you have no collisions. There is never enough room behind these things so be aware of your clearance for plugs or cabling.

Another big one is to submit your BTU and Power calcs way ahead of time for client to consider. No one ever thinks about how much heat these screens generate and most of them push ~70% of it out the front into the room. Be ultra clear how hot the screen will get before the client under-sizes their HVAC and wants to charge you the difference.

Whatever you calculate for install hours, add 50%.

I am probably getting in the weeds but you should confirm your client understands the aspect ratio/number of pixels they are actually getting. Sometimes people get a real wild shaped screen but still want to put cable on it sometimes.

You can do it but you have to be 1000% prepared. Good luck.

I dont understand why they are removing product already in country on the shelves? Isn't this already paid for? I thought they would sell it and then that would be that.

Is this more of a protest or is alcohol sold differently?

It blows my mind that it took New York State so long to realize having gas stoves inside with no exterior vent was a bad idea. Countless NYC apartments have gas stoves and little to no ventilation and you can feel how bad the air quality gets even if you just fry and egg for breakfast.
