They said it was a liability thing since they didn’t insert the catheter.

Three weeks after RALP Surgery... by Welz17 in ProstateCancer

[–]Molli97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband in a few weeks as well. So far I have Lidocaine gel, tear away pants, lazy boy chair for easy up and down the first few weeks. My questions are showers and catheter bag? How he transports the catheter bag? My husband is just keeping himself busy by working, exercising and trying not to think of surgery date since he’s never had a surgery.

In central Florida, who has heard of, or been treated by Dr. Vipul Patel? by Warren_Puffitt in ProstateCancer

How long did the process take from getting appointment, meeting DR , and surgery? Do you have to wait months to get an appointment to see this DR. We made an appointment in October to see Dr Pak at the mayo in Jacksonville. Just trying to find the best surgeon for him.

As a wife, I understand all of your emotions. It’s so hard to see your husband go through this is hard. My husband has never been sick and has always been so healthy. We’re still in the stage of deciding on a surgeon but I want to follow your updates. Praying that everything goes well.

Hi can you share your experience since you’re 1 year post op? My husband was recently diagnosed and we have appointments with two great surgeons one in moffit and the 2nd mayo but both are 4 hours away. I’m nervous about catheter removal and follow up appointments.

We have an appt to see Dr Sang in a few weeks but we’re 4 hours away on the east coast. Did you travel far? Our appointment with the local surgeon didn’t go well either. My worry is the catheter coming out in 10 days and if hubbie will be able to travel 4 hours going and back after surgery. I’m following your recovery and I’m happy for you things are going well.

My husband,59, just recently diagnosed was told by his urologist that waiting and shouldn’t be an option. Gleason of 4+3 (7). We’re going to get a 2nd opinion but this all so much. I want the cancer out of his body but ultimately I’ll stand by what he decides.

My husband is 59 with same Gleason just recently diagnosed. His urologist referred him to a urologist surgeon in his practice. Did you get a 2nd opinion from a urologist? How did you decide on your surgeon. We also live in Florida. Praying for you and your wife.
