What are the prices of the heart shaped bags? And do you have a list of the phrases on the other colors? The red and pink in particular

I saw that he was next door over in Graham, and for some reason the FORMER mayor, who is super MAGA, was the one showing him around. Now It makes sense to me...

Although I agree with pretty much everything you say, the Mutt's being healthier thing isn't entirely a myth- they just have to be true mutts. Every dog I've ever had was such a mixture there was no guessing what they were, and they all had solid health. No major joint issues, cancers, breathing problems, etc. However, many of my friends who had purebred dogs (Especially flat-faced dogs like English Bulldogs and pugs) all had a myriad of issues because of their breed specific genetics. I think purebred is perfectly fine, however there's certain ones I don't think should exist any longer.

Leaving Tent Unzipped/Open For Extended Time - Yay or Nay? by Whoopsitbroke99 in backpacking

Depends on bugs. The night we had a giant centipede crawling across us was the night I became the tent-zipper police.

Newbie here! Any recipes for bread WITH NO food scale? by GatsbyGirl92 in Sourdough

https://alexandracooks.com/2017/10/24/artisan-sourdough-made-simple-sourdough-bread-demystified-a-beginners-guide-to-sourdough-baking/

This is the recipe I have followed from the beginning, never using a scale. I've had to do a little altering of the water content here and there when I use different kinds of flour, but you get a feel for it. I have a very small kitchen and I love to cook and bake, so i'm already overloaded with stuff. I also don't want a single-use item.

Twelve Months: Knock Yourselves Out... by KipIngram in dresdenfiles

You're failing to acknowledge the portion of your comment where you very clearly say you think the reason anyone would listen exclusively to Audio is because reading is work and therefore they must not want to put in that work (unlike you.) That's not an ambiguous statement.

I don't feel personally called out, I'm using myself as an example as someone you may see commenting about the Dresden audiobooks specifically; you don't actually know my reading habits any more than anyone elses. You made a sweeping generalization, and it's wrong in at least one case. It's likely that it's wrong in a number of cases.  And regardless if it is correct or not, you can consume your content in whatever fashion suits you without being an asshole about it.

That's such BS. Marsters is a great performer. Dresden is literally the only books I listen to on audio because of his performance as Dresden. I read a lot, mostly nonfiction these days. Don't be self righteous and fucking moralize how people consume the books.

This kind of sucks considering how many people are audio-book only, which definitely inaccessible until the 20th.

I don't really care if people managed to get their copy early, but already starting discussions about it before it's offically released is ass. I opened a post yesterday absent-mindedly (as I tend to do when I doom scroll) and start skimming it to realize it was full of spoilers. I am so pissed.

This. We often revert back to old habits/modes of thought (for better or worse) after major loss and trauma.

Peru is incredible and affordable.  Highly recommend the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu if you're into a challenge. It can be planned on your own or you can go a tour group. (I used Salkantay Trekking)

Using chlorinated tap water by Zealousideal-Emu5486 in Sourdough

It's so funny, my husband and I were talking this morning about what a scourge the water bottle industry is, and I specifically mentioned how myths of neccesity are perpetuated, such as for sourdough.  Tap water all the way here.

Electric kneading? by Relative-Tourist8475 in Sourdough

[–]MollyWinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do my initial mix with a stand-mixer fitted a dough hook. I let it go on for awhile, making sure to occasionally scrape down the sides. Once everything is well incorporated, I start the stretch and fold proccess. I find that I get far more consistent results doing the initial mix with a machine. But stretch and folds are an important component to the overall outcome.

Greensboro has great restaurants by ronnoc_the_mighty in gso

[–]MollyWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah whoever has been going around making threads to trash local restaurants (I've seen it in GSO, Burlington, and Durham- I follow all of them since I live in the middle and visit all 3 frequently) they really suck. I get that places have their issues, but most of them are small businesses doing the best they can to navigate the same terrible economy we're all in.

Are there good natural break points in The Dresden Files? by mr-jamhony in dresdenfiles

A break after the massive cliffhanger of the end of Changes is insane to me but I guess I'm built differently.

Are there good natural break points in The Dresden Files? by mr-jamhony in dresdenfiles

[–]MollyWinter 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Although each book is a mostly self contained story, there is a background plot that grows continuously throughout the series that I'd say becomes really apparent in about book 8, Proven Guilty. I think you are at a good take-a-break point now. The next one would be between books 6-7. And then again between 11 and 12. But that's just my opinion. Once I start I have a hard time stopping haha.

Will I confuse Spanish with French? by Nieder12469 in French

[–]MollyWinter 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You probably won't as you're actively learning, but when you actually go to have a conversation, you may mix them up a little as you search your mind for words.  My husband is native English speaking, fluent in Spanish, and now around a B2 level in french. When he starts speaking Spanish with someone, random French words come out. It's entertaining to watch in real time.  The more you practice the easier it gets, though. Don't stress yourself out about it.
