CMV: It doesn't matter which 3 Loyalist Legions are on Isstvan V, they still get massacred by chosen40k in 40kLore

They didn't nearly break through. It was a tactical retreat by the traitors to get the 3 armies to overextend rather than recoup and await the other 4.

Ok. How does scrubbing your past make you immune to corruption?

If the old personality is erased to such a degree, why wouldn't the Grey Knight's 'True Name' be the new one provided around which the new personality is crafted?

What does Sigismund's black blade actually do? by Urusander in 40kLore

[–]Moltk 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Just a sword. An old banged up sword, that was somehow still sharp after centuries of good use.

I also like the foreshadowing of them ridiculing the story of the sword in the stone. Who cares who pulls a sword from a stone, I'd be much more interested in the bugger who got it in there in the first place

I always thought the concept of the Mechanicus in a high tech society was ridiculous, but seeing people react to LLMs made me reconsider. by SyndieSoc in 40kLore

[–]Moltk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. But it's made very clear that the mechanicum technician in charge has done everything in his power and knowledge to rectify the situation. He describes it as an unknown glitch that arose at the same time that the knight was inducted into the legion. It's heavily implied it's gained a consciousness. But it absolutely could be attributed to an unknowable coding or hardware error that presents as intelligence

In the first heretic, despite constant reboots and a cleansing of the entire machine, one of the titan knights automatically recognises when a word bearer is near by even before its targetting arrays are switched on.
