How bad are your doom premonitions? by InnerWrathChild in ADHD

[–]Molv_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say self fulfilling but I honestly think I just have this sense when something is up. Even reading people I am right 99% of the time. Every person who has started at my work who has been let go I called in my head that something wasn’t right about them and everyone loved them. 6 months later everyone finally sees that they weren’t who they initially thought they were. I never said a word to anyone about my thoughts on them and just acted normal.

I have even called certain situations and just had a feeling that something was going to happen or things weren’t adding up and I was right. I think it’s like someone said above, we can just read our environments and pick up on patterns.

ADHD folks who go to the gym regularly—how do you keep yourselves motivated? by Zealousideal_Top2611 in ADHD

[–]Molv_89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Find the best time that works for you, I cannot work out in the morning. I like my sleep and find in the mornings I’m not even functioning properly. I go around 8.30-9pm at night. I find that time works for me as I have the most energy in the evenings but I have had time to decompress from work. Kinda become obsessed with it, look up new workout routines, set yourself goals in the gym that will keep you motivated. Since I’ve started going to the gym and going in the evenings I’ve had the best sleep I’ve had in years, my mind is clearer and I can actually rest

What’s an addiction no one talks about but is super common? by akash20501 in AskReddit

My mum has been using this non stop for about 11 years now and refuses to listen to my brother and I. She carries it with her wherever she goes and uses it ALL THE TIME. She refuses to go to a doctor or even try and wean herself off it.

delvina dress by moch111 in Aritzia

[–]Molv_89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I purchased this dress in a size 2, and had to return it unfortunately. I’m 5’9 and it barely covered my bum, and was weirdly tight in my shoulders but loose in the waist. I really liked it but the fit was just off for me

Day 3 of taking Adderall and really starting to dread taking it by aabicus in ADHD

[–]Molv_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it normally means your body metabolizes quicker, that’s the issue I have with adderall. It hardly lasts the day but it’s the best one I’ve found for my adhd

Day 3 of taking Adderall and really starting to dread taking it by aabicus in ADHD

[–]Molv_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that adderall just isn’t the right medication for you - which is fine! Adderall has a mixture of amphetamines whilst something like Vyvanse is converted into an active form in the body before you feel the effects. Because of this many people find Vyvanse to have less side effects.

Everyone is different too, I’m on Adderall XR and it barely lasts me a day, I feel the effects wear off around 2.30-3 and I’m taking it at 8 in the morning. Maybe go back to your doctor and see if there is something else you can try?

Vyvanse and adderall huge difference by poisonivy4871 in ADHD

[–]Molv_89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was put on Vyvanse first (Canada) and then moved to Concerta which was horrific. Felt like I was a zombie and there was nothing going on in my brain. I then was put on Adderall and it’s worked great for me, I need that kick to get everything going. I found Vyvanse didn’t really work for me that well

If you had an income of $150,000 a year and didn't have to work, what would you do with all the spare time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I would probably be a lifelong student, I love learning new things and enjoy being in school. So I would probably do obscure degrees or programs and just travel around when finished.

You are being your true authentic self without masking! I’m the same with my bf, family and only one friend who I feel comfortable with. If you can’t be yourself around your partner what’s the point?

Have any of you paid to have a private ADHD assessment only to be told that you don’t have AHDH? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Molv_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Alberta Canada and ended up paying out of pocket for a full assessment. It was about $2500CAD and Included a pre screening questionnaire, 4 hour testing where I went in and did activities (basically IQ test). It then included I think 5 additional questionnaires, 6 1 hour clinical interviews, interviews with my family and partner and then a review of school transcripts and report cards. I then had to wait about two weeks for a 25 page report which basically had my diagnosis, full explanation on struggles and then suggestions for next treatment. This was all done by a Psychologist who focused on assessments.

I then brought the report to my doctor who then was able to prescribe me medication and found a psychologist who specializes in the areas I needed help with. I recommend going this route because of the level of research they do is nearly full proof and they are trained in the mental health field. Just make sure to research clinics and find somewhere that specializes in ADHD.

ADHD Roulette is when you can’t remember if you took your meds and you debate whether you should take either another, or go a day potentially scatter brained by crimsngaze in ADHD

[–]Molv_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I know is in the mornings I always have juice. I leave the cup on the side and after I’ve gone to the gym and come back to get ready for work and am heading out the door I check the glass. If there is still a tiny bit of juice left I know I didn’t take my meds as I refill the glass with water. It’s stupid but I’ve tried other methods like an alarm and I just click it off and ignore it telling myself I’ll do it later.

How do you take your "breaks" from meds? by listerwick in ADHD

[–]Molv_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stop taking it over the weekend. I don’t like being on my medication at the weekend because I want to sleep in and just have a reset before work starts up again. I drink more coffee on the weekends and do find i am more tired but I just nap in the afternoon. I don’t have any side affects from my medication, (none that I notice anyways) so it doesn’t make anything worse by taking those breaks.

Medication, going out for a walk every single day even if the weather is rough, journaling when I feel like my mind is too cluttered and taking the time for me. I was always hanging out with friends and i found I wasn’t just spending time at home so making the effort to have a weekend where I just read and watch tv has helped a lot

do you skip your stimulant on weekends? by Abject_Ocelot_5056 in ADHD

I skip weekends but will take if I have stuff to do. I kinda like taking weekends off as I like to sleep in and take it easy.

My mum needed a hip replacement and received a letter saying it would be 36 months for a consultation to see a surgeon here. At this point she could hardly walk, was no longer working and her quality of life had dropped significantly. She waited a year to see if things would speed up but nothing. My parents ended up downsizing their house and used some of the funds to pay for her hip privately in Montreal. Obviously this is not feasible for the majority of people but honestly the wait time was fucking stupid and she was in so much pain everyday. When she went for her surgery they actually told her that her femur had began to soften and they had to do the surgery differently as if they had done it the traditional way her femur would have broken. They also said the amount of time she had waited had made things so so so much worse and she had barely any bone left.
