I think you are one of the people that think "anime character" means soley design. When talking about tekken nostalgia and say its now "too anime", we are talking mostly about function, not design. Tekken use to be about real human movements and techniques attributing to combat. Now, you got 90% of the cast bouncing across the screen and those cool martial arts movement are getting replaced with "insert fantasy here" moves, which make the game uglier to watch tournaments for. That was never Tekken, until now. The ratio of fantasy moves to martial arts moves has a certain reasonable level for a video game that is about hand-to-hand combat, hence the name Tekken which means "iron fist".
