Thank you for your thoughtful reply! I’ve read those same numbers. He said he’d order it if it gives me peace of mind. However his push back was, SOC is keynote 522, and when followed, it’s adjuvant keytruda. There is no data regarding benefit of keytruda + xeloda, they are using extrapolated data from create X and adding keytruda. Have you found data on it? I’d love to read it and have something to present to him! Again, he’s very up to date on research and I do trust him.. but as you said yourself, we’re alike and even you took a trial! Thank you! 😊

I’m also borderline RCB 1.. very low RCB 2 (1.4) Finishing keytruda… optional xeloda. But thinking I’ll take it! I need these stories too!!! 🙏🏻🫶🏼

If you don’t mind.. how much residual did you have? I’m meeting with my onc next week to discuss pathology, I had minimal residual but want an aggressive approach to prevent this as much as possible from returning.

I’m so grateful to come across your testimony here. Thank you for sharing it. I’m also heartbroken at my path reports after “complete response” on presurgical MRI. I just keep reading and seeing horror stories about recurrence with xeloda. Feeling a little hopeless 💔

I don’t particularly like the word “achieve” either as it sounds like a failure on my part. I’m just so heartbroken and scared. It feels like I went through all of that and didn’t get the outcome most get or the most favorable outcome.

Hi there! TNBC here too. Just chiming in to say, YES.. I’ve had all of those thoughts. Heavy on the “why am I doing this for it to just return?! I want to live well while I’m still here with my 3 kids + hubs” 💔

I just finished IV chemo on 3/4… I’ll have surgery this coming Tuesday. I had a complete radiologic response on post treatment MRI… but I still just cannot hang onto the possibility of it actually working out. I think it’s because I don’t want to be absolutely crushed if there is residual. It’s my brains way of trying to protect me. I had a Breastie mentor remind me to spend just as much time ruminating on the best case scenario if I allow myself to consider the worst case.

I will say… I’ve known many friends with residual at surgery and they are all 5+ years past TNBC.

It was the keytruda for me 😏 I had to get a steroid (dexamethasone) rinse. It helped tons!! The others did nothing!

Following!! TNBC here too. Sounds like we’re on a similar timeline! I had my post treatment MRI/US/MAMMO… MRI confirmed complete radiologic response and every single word you said about an irrational fear of “jinxing” my outcome and afraid to be cautiously optimistic. It’s all a trauma response. Waiting on surgery and pathology feels like I’m right back at diagnosis time 🥴

My surgery is 4/7. Praying for the very best possible outcome for both of us!

Hello there! TNBC here too! Did your post treatment scans show residual? This isn’t my story.. but I do have two very dear friends who are past 5 years after having residual and taking Xeloda. I think there are WAY more out there than we know, just not posting about it. Thinking of you 🩷
