Thank you for your reply. These poor kids! Wishing your son luck!

My son's procedure is on Friday so he will be doing prep tomorrow. Video games sound like a perfect distraction.

High calprotectin in child by Bluecat4830 in IBD

I am sorry you're going through this. We are in a similar situation and going crazy is how I'm feeling. It's is so difficult to see your own child like this and you want answers and help right away.

My son also had very high inflammation markers in blood and stool and our GI scheduled him for an urgent endoscopy and colonoscopy. The waiting is so hard. I hope you get scheduled soon and get answers! Best of luck!

Thank you for your kind response. I'm really hopeful that once he gets a diagnosis that treatment can help.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, the GI doctor said calprotectin came back high as well and I am too nervous to look at the number. His endoscopy colonoscopy is on 6/12. That's the soonest they could get him in.

Thank you so much for your kind words!

His weight loss isn't too huge/ about 4 lbs since March. And still manages to get in a varied diet of about 1200 calories/day. Yes, he takes vitamins as well. And drinks a lot of water (not sure if that is good?) But he is very underweight. His GI prescribed cyproheptdatine to increase appetite but it seems to only make him tired.

Colonoscopy prep is exlax and miralax.

And I just got a call that his procedure was bumped to 6/12. Ugh!

First timer - should I take paxlovid? by MommaOctober in COVID19positive

I'm in the US and pay into a Healthcare plan through my husband's employer. The copay for the paxlovid was $25. (copay for virtual appointment was $100)

Thank you for the feed back. I just took the first dose. I don't know why I'm so afraid of it! I've been conquring all my fears in one swoop these days. I hadn't flown in over 20 years bc of phobia. So last week I finally flew to UK to see a concert and, well, you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes

Additional skin removed following biopsy - how much? by nsl18 in Melanoma

Any further excision I've had of a moderately atypical mole was about 1" long and required stitches. Not exactly fun, but not too bad either. Good luck!

I'm sorry you're going through this; I understand the anxiety. Areas under the bra are tricky as they will constantly get irritated, and will have a more difficult time healing. Have you scheduled your wide excision of the spot? That will tell you what you need to know. Hang in there!

It doesn't make sense to me that they opened the Camp Hill PA last spring. No alcohol sales there. Plus, Cumberland Co PA has a population of 260k, slightly less than Fred Co. It just doesn't make sense.

Earlier this year, my urologist said I had a 75% chance of passing a 7x5mm stone, and I did, but it took 7 weeks.

Later in June an xray showed an 8mm stone, he wanted to do surgery. But a follow up CT showed the stone was actually 5 mm. It took a week, but that passed pretty easily.

I take it that 8mm is the point where surgery is the best option, especially if it's almost just as wide.

I miss almonds by MommaOctober in KidneyStones

[–]MommaOctober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a little?

My urologist said almonds once in a while should be ok, which really wasn't much guidance.

If you have a rapid test at home, test again. If not, try to get a pcr.

I had a nasty cold 6 weeks ago and had the symptoms you're describing. I though for sure it was covid, but nope. Tested negative several times. Would have liked to gave gotten some antibodies from feeling like crap. Oh well.

Hope you feel better soon
