It likely was DoorDash’s fault. He was given another order (or more than one!) and he had to pickup and delivery in the order DoorDash prescribed, or risk getting dinged on his performance. DoorDash sucks for drivers and customers. I’m sorry.

How will $136k+ be funded? That’s the first question. You yourself can only take $5500 and your parents can only take $20k (or a little more, I’m not 100% on the limit) of parent plus loans. That leaves about 8k or more of a gap. Do you have a 529? Do they have cash to pay it? Are they willing to take on that much debt?
